Again its your gut feeling but Minuette would be better for being done, and being in the land of nod would be a benefit this time. I always prefer to try unsedated first but by the sound of it he has quite extensive work to be done this time and at least if its done with him unaware he hopefully wouldnt feel the discomfort next time, I would recommend as your chap prob will to, to see him in 4-6 months depending on the probs but also so that nothing should hopefully have built up too much therefore leading to it not being another major session. Do discuss your anxieties with this EDT, if hes a decent chap hel quash your fears and talk you through things! Hope that helps you.. Leigh

Hmmmm. I think you definitely need to have Minuette done, and done under sedation since she was scared without sedation, but I reckon you know that yourself. The tricky bit is do you get this guy back, or search for someone else. I get the feeling you are a bit uneasy about him---if he had instilled confidence in you there wouldn't be a quandary here---you would be booking him together with the vet for sedation right now.
Other local people saying he is good, although a lot better than them saying he is bad, is not always a good guide. I find that if people use a particular vet, farrier or equine dentist they tend to say he is good, otherwise it is like they are saying they haven't got the best for their horse, and everyone likes to think they have got the best, even if it means kidding themselves.

If you felt he was good have him back, if you are uneasy start the search again. Leigh's point about American qualifications is a good one---they go into it in a lot more depth over there. Where did he train?
