I lost Poseur a few days ago now but was too upset to write about him, I thought I was all cried out but no, it is so painful, he is so missed. Thank you all for your kind words but he does deserve them, he was a gorgeous boy and he touched so many. It makes you realise how we are just the guardians of these dear souls, you can’t own them – perhaps they own us. Thanks to you Ann for your heartfelt words, he was indeed the start of our close friendship from which so many happy times have stemmed. Poseur certainly did have many funny foibles, as well as his absolute obsession with feet he required his hand to be held through covering, really his front paw! With all this he was the most noble and proud of stallions. He has been taken from us too soon but I shall remember him at his most glorious and with great love and affection.

I was so proud to show him off at the age of 17 at the North West Show - Reserve Champion was a great bonus! Even though not shown for years, he was an old hand. He had tremendous fun and was always ready to pose for the camera. Here are some shots taken from the video, for those who didn’t know him his spirit shines out and for those of us who did, happy memories.

Heather, what a wonderful boy. I hope you didn't mind the pictures of him in the mud at Malvern - it was such a moment to remember! His beauty shines through all the photos. We never stop crying in our souls for them.

Heather, what lovely photos, he was truely a dream horse wasnt he. You are right, we never own these horses, they merely pick us to be their guardians in this world before they move on to pastures greener. We just have to feel privileged that we had the time we did with them and that we have many memories to keep forever.

Not at all Treasure, it was certainly a memorable moment and got him into Horse and Hound. As said he was always happy to oblige the photographer. Thanks again for all your kindness.

So terribly sorry to hear your news, Heather, it is never an easy time...I remember seeing him at a show I attended and he smply took my breath away! He has gone home now, where he will always run free and proud. My heart goes out to you and wish I could shoulder some of your hurt. As with all the other lovely people on this forum you are in my thoughts.

Very sorry to hear your sad news. I never 'met' him in person, but I was also at Malvern when he had his roll in the mud! Bless him.

Reading all these little stories about him really shows what a lovely boy he was. He sounds to have had a wonderful life, full of joy and love. What more could a horse ask? He was as lucky to share his life with you, as you were to share your life with him.

You are in my thoughts

Love Kate

Hi Heather,
What a sad time for you losing such a precious boy. I too was totally entertained by him rollng in the mud at Malvern. It made my day to see such a smart chap plastered up one side with thick mud, and he so enjoyed it. Was lovely to see him being a real horse. will never forget it.
RIP Dear Boy.
