You could use the liquid chalk, then after it has dried, brush gently and use a damp clean cloth to wipe either side on the bay or chestnut its fiddly but then makeup is an art |

Thats exactly what I do lydilou,I buy the trainer whitener and put it on the night before then it looks more natural and touch up with the chalk when I arrive at the showground.Takes a bit of practice but you and I have had some of that!Have a lovely week-end. |

even tho my horse is grey he has socks and i can make them stand out by using this stuff called white and bright horse shampoo, i dilute it for his body and then on his socks, i put it on neet before bathing his body then wash it all off that seems to work a treat but the stuff is purple and will stain you hands. (also i used it the same way for mane and tails to get the yellowness out). |

You can buy calcium carbonate from the chemist and mix to a paste. Plaster over the socks the night before and then in the morning just brush out. Looks fantastic! |

Sorry Keren but what happens if you have an old scar on a white leg - do you just whiten the leg and leave the whitener off the scar??
Surely the DCs would NOT slap wrists for that!!!!! |

I used potato-powder (sp?) after washing and nearly dryed socks etc. Just rub it in with your hands the day before and brush it of in the morning. It works really good and it's cheap to bye!

I was thinking the same thing Lanabanana!
Why do you get in a mess with chalk Cassie? Are you using loose power or a chalk block? I used to use a chalk block on my old mares white socks and it was very easy and quick to apply. I can imagine that loose power might be messy!

I use a whit shampoo but the night before i cover the white sock in talken powder!! then next morning it allows any muck to brush of with the powder! then i add a bit more! i have always done this and it works for me!! you also end up with a very nice smelling horse!!!! lol :) |
