I have just dropped my pink razor and the hinge has broken, so I need a new phone
I thought all you young things that are so clued up on phones, may be able to help me narrow down the search and what I need to consider.
The most important thing is, It must have a biggish screen, because I need specs to read, and obviously dont always have them with me. I am not very techo, so all the fancy bits I probably wouldnt use.
I only want to use it as a phone and text, so only really need the simple stuff really, although I realise they will nearly all have camera,s and radio and such.
I am on orange pay as you go, but lots of phones on ebay say 'un-locked' etc, so that doeasnt seem to be so much of a problem.
Any ideas folks?? Thanks in advance.

Just got the Sony Ericson Cybershot phone on contract from O2...............£25 per month gives me 2500 talk minutes and 200 texts, not bad and the phone is really easy to use as well which is a bonus! |

I've got an ancient Nokia 3310 and it's lovely: sends/receives calls and text and nothing else; copes with being dropped and being full of horsehair (as we discovered when we changed the battery last week). Plus the battery lasts for about a week so don't need to worry about charging it every night.

I have stuck with Nokias for many years now as I find them so easy to use. Mine is a 6230i, which is not that recent but functional |

Thanks Guys, BUT, Do any of these have large screens though???
Thats the most important feature for those of us that need reading glasses.
Keep em coming please, not sure how long this razor will keep working with only being attached one side of the flip up!! |

Hi Pat, I love my Razr V3, but it's getting a bit ancient now and the keypad is literally wearing out. I like quite a big screen too, so I'll be interested to see what replies you get, however I might just go for a newer version of the V3. My OH has the Samsung e900 which is touch sensitive like the LG Chocolate and it is very sensitive, personally find it a little tricky although my previous phone was the Samsung d500 which was very easy to use. |

Hi Pat,
I am a sony ericsson fan but must admit I always go to gsmarena to suss out the specs of any phones I fancy and then straight to mobiles4everyone and see if I cant get one free. They do some great cashback schemes and the phone, minutes and texts end up costing nothing at the end of the contract.

I have the Nokia N80 which is the upgrade to the Nokia N70.
Both have very big screens.
If you are not very technical, it may help you to stick to the same manufacturer so you can navigate the new phone straight away. |

Nokias are very good - I find they can stand hitting the concrete and being bitten by naughty horsies very well They aren't very waterproof tho' |

I used to have a Nokia , in fact have had 3 Nokias and loved them, but they have this annoying habit of jumping from pockets into water buckets and drowning themselves and theres only so many times I can use the excuse 'I'm sorry but I drowned my phone' to the guys in the shop!
The one I have now, the Cybershot is ok for me, and I wear reading glasses, I find the screen adequate for want I want it for, and have no trouble reading with or without glasses, and the camera is a little cracker on it, easy to use and I can download straight to the pc or it comes with a memory card thingie that I can take to the machine in the shop and print striaght from there. Got the phone free of charge, express delivery and for £25 a month its not a bad deal |
