How often do people replace theirs? I've had my nice ventilated champion for nearly six years now - one small fall in which my head didn't go anywhere near the ground, and I've not dropped it or anything. Do you think it's time I retired it?

Errrr...... I don't remember when I bought mine and it's been through the wars with me. I'll definately replace it before backing Sylvie though. Hmmmm should maybe start looking now then! |

I only replaced mine when I had a nasty fall a couple of years ago, yours should be fine I would have thought unless you've dropped it from a great height (with or without your head inside it ).

Hi Alison, I have three - one full strength one with harness for day to day riding, jumping etc, one slightly smarter with a harness for warming up before shows or if the show demands a harness, and the Beagler (without harness) for going into the ring for showing classes. I replace my 'hacking' one when the padding shrinks a bit and doesn't feel quite so snug. If yours feels like it wouldn't come off if you had a tumble, and hasn't been dropped seriously, it should be OK. |
