I've just finished work and I could murder a curry. I like Biriani's or Kashmiri myself but I'm ashamed to say that I don't make them from scratch.

I love prawn puri as a starter, followed by either a korma, balti or if I am feeling Adventurous a hot vindaloo with one or three beers and a peshwari nan. yum
Susan, Glasgow sure is a fantastic place for indian food and a great night out the last time we were in town went to the wee curry shop. small place but great fresh food |

I had a curry last night - Chicken Diopiaza (mild/medium), Sauce out of a jar though I must admit - my culinary skills are pretty poor; I think I could burn salad!
If I go out for a curry I usually have Sheek Kebab for starter, Chicken Korma, Pilau rice and Keema Naan (mince meat in side) for main but no desert. I konw Korma is a bit wimpy but I am allergic to some spices and have to be careful, I try to be a bit more daring at home!

I make a reasonable chicken/beef curry from scratch - don't like the curry sauces in jars! Much nicer to mix ones own spices! |

It has to be Chicken tikka masala, or chicken tikka makhani, and peshwari naan, i do make my own curry, but it probably tastes quite a bit different to in a restaurant, because i just chuck loads of different ingredients in and hope for the best.

Our nearest curry house involves a 20 mile round trip - so we don't do take-aways!! |

Curry is one of the things I would have to take with me if I went to live on a desert island..!
We use Pataks curry paste (usually Rogan Josh or Balti) and then make up the rest of the curry with various vegetables and vegetarian 'meat' substitutes. I pretty much lived on these whilst I was at university and tended to just add whatever I could find in the fridge! Note: don't try pickled beetroot in curries!
The curry house in our village is super though, so we are becoming somewhat regulars there.

i think i will get a curry tonight!
Had a nice one on tuesday!
We usually have a saag ponir, a niramish (dry mixed veggies, the ones with chillies in are best), onion bahji, lamb chilli buhna, chicken tikka madras.... mmmmm
i also like the one that has a hot and sour flavour and lentils in it, I think its a Shahi chicken dansak.
Oh and i also love tarka dahl and of course King prawn puree!
But obviously with just two of us we can't order all of that at once - it would just be too much food!
I also like a plain naan ! |

My best mate is soon to be moving down here to Somerset ( Horray) as her horses are already here with us, and as much as we love her ( and we do!) we are secretly looking forward to her moving cos her OH is one of the best curry cooks ever , ever ! I have cooked professionally,( and I love it , friends over for supper is one of my hobbies) so has my Mum, ( My husband thinks he has died and gone to heaven, as if I don,t fancy cooking ,Mum does) so we are a tough crowd to impress!! BUT Godfrey curries are unbeatable!! He grinds his own spices and makes his own marinades and he does dishes from all the different continents, so we are waiting with bated breath for them to find a house down here , and we can go for curry nights !! I like most curries and I always make all my sauces etc from scratch. My fave is a Thai banquet sort of job: takes nearly all day to do but well worth it! I've not eaten curries out much, but they've always been very good (especially Indonesian).
Curried turnips: sounds appalling but is absolutely delicious. Ditto curried eggs.
Mmmmm!
