As of yesterday lunchtime I'm now a two horse owner!!I've had louis a year and in Dec took his brother on loan to back and bring on, after a minor hiccup we have now made progress and I new I would never want him to leave me, so a couple of weeks ago his owners kindly let me buy him So now I have two brothers, Eric is 5 and by G Iridis (Camargue) and Letisha (Esta Espashan)so the boys share the same mum. I'm so thrilled, have borrowed a camara and should have piccys to post in the next few days!!

You lucky thing....Pictures please. G Iridis is a beautiful Stallion with wonderful manners, Sue Richards & Lisa at Ty Draw Arabians gave my partner and I a tour around the horses last year when we visited them. Iridis was a gentleman in the stable, he simply blew me away |

Hi Nut
I havent any pictures of my own, but if you go into the events section on Arabianlines and look under:-
Malvern 2003 photo report he was Reserve Senior Male (picture) Wessex 2003 Summer Show photo report he was Overall Senior Champion (picture) Hocon 2002 photo report he was Senior Male Champion (gorgeous picture) He was Reserve Male Champion at Malvern in 2006 as well, cant find a report on that?? Theres a picture in Arab Magazine or the AHS News though.
Hope that helps
I dont think pictures do him justice, he's just gorgeous and so gentle and kind

This loaning malarky is fatal.
I agree you cant let them go back when you have had them a while, it would break your heart, even though you keep saying 'he/she isnt mine, I,m just caring for them' !!! It just doesnt work or sink in as in my case....... |

My experience of loaning has been great but my gelding (Lotny x Orange Blossom)did go to a very good friend of mine and is still there now aged 20, bless him :))) He is still used to teach kids to ride and is still healthy.
I moved 10 years ago and was going to sell him as I couldn't take 5 horses with me but my friend said she would loan him as she knew I couldn't bare to part with him, I had rescued him when he was 12 months old!
BUT I also know of some that went totally wrong......A friends Arab was stolen when the girl loaning him found out that the owner was now going to be selling him. On the morning my friend went to get her gelding she found he had gone from the yard and so had the girl that was loaning him. Neither have been seen since (about 7/8 years ago). If by chance anyone knows of a 16hh Pure bred Arab called Pluto who is 'owned' by a hippy type girl on their yard please let me know, we think he went to the Leicestershire area. My friend would not want to take him back now but we would like to know he is OK. |
