I would like to say how grateful I am to Paula for being able to advertise on this site, ( the best form of reaching as wide a market as possible) when I think that I got two seperate enquiries from khuwait, one from spain, and many from the UK.
I know Paula does not charge nearly enough to keep the site going let alone have an income from it, yet people have been known to complain that they are not selling their horses from it, dispite advertising ( I wonder if they would complain to the horse and hound if the same applied?) I think that if a horse is priced according to the market, it will sell. I know if the market was in a healthy state my mare Prima Ballerina would have been worth several thousand pounds more than I asked. but it is not so be prepared to ask a little less and try to make sure your horse has as good a home as possible and you will sell here on A/lines

Well said Lynda! I've seen a few horses for sale recently (not just on this site) that really have a high price tag and are therefore not selling. I couldn't afford personally to pay thousands of pounds for another horse, but could provide a fabulous home with all the love and care required. I am sure there are lots of other homes out there that could do the same, but unfortunately are not getting the opportunity to do so. I bought a lovely purebred colt last year for quite literally pennies in comparison to his true worth, as his owner needed to sell in order to free herself of financial problems. He will have a loving home for life and he is very special to me. By comparison when I bought my gelding 21/2 years ago, I did pay a bit more than market value, but the seller obviously knew how keen I was and this was definitely an advantage to her!!

I guess some sellers want to attach high prices to try and ensure that their stock will go to good homes, but as we are all quite aware, a high price is sadly no guarantee of a good home.

I have to agree that selling at a reasonable price 9 times out of 10
you will find a genuine home, and a high price tag does NOT guarantee a good home,i am very happy to say that we sold our yearling colt yesterday to a really nice home,he will stay with us to the end of march then go to his new mum then, he was only on here 3 days!!!!!!!!!

My mare is for sale on this site

Although I have yet to sell her I have had the most response from advertising here. Shes on a few other sites which ive only had 1 response.

So even though the right person is yet to come along Alines advertising is definatly doing its job

I think shes reasonably priced and had lots of enquiries but yet to meet the right person for her.......

I bought my mare from her breeder last September and did not pay her full market value I'm sure. Also I am paying her in instalments as this is the only way I could afford her or any horse for that matter. She will be loved and cared for to the best of my ability and has a home for life. High prices do not mean good homes and IMHO unfortunately it is usually those who cannot afford to pay vast amounts that provide the more suitable homes.

I totally agree with you Linda. Arabianlines is def. the place to advertise, I've sold nearly all my horses thorugh this site and got a fantastic response, and all have gone to great homes where they will be doing what they were bred to do - race!

Last year I was getting enquiries from Dubai for one of my broodmares, why wasn't advertised for sale but because they saw my website they had a look and tried their luck - but she definately wasn't and never will be for sale!

I have just put my fantastically bred (for racing!) yearling colt "Zayin Zeus" up for sale as I don't have facilites for colts at my yard, considering the market and the high price I didn't expect much interest, but I had several enquiries from as far flung places as Holland, France, Dubai and of course the UK. He's only been on a few days and am delighted that he has been sold to superb home in the UK where he will be raced in years to come.

So BIG THANK YOU to Paula and Sean for maintaining their 100 % strike rate with helping me sell my homebreds onto superb homes via this site!

Paul
