I am considering taking my little loan mare, Milly, along to the Nationals this year. Can anyone tell me when these are? Is it June or July? Also what day would the mares class be on? Is there a website that I can find out any further info like B&B's etc?

welcome to AL  if you go to the eventssection on this site you should be able tosend off for a schedule for malvern which is in july that will give you lots of info on the shows especially for arabs as well over the coming months.x |

| Yes - you have to be an AHS member. Malvern is the last weeeknd in July, the 26th, 27th & 28th i think. |

Hi Jade,
Now you've got me started and its only february!!! Me and my friend Tahir look forward to Malven all year. Its our annual holiday, we go on the weds afternoon and leave sunday morning, sleep in the trailer if we take horses or a tent if we don't, it's sooooooo exciting...
Gonnabe buzzing all night thinking about it now. Sad or what!!!

Jackie, my best friend and I are exactly the same. We have been going to Malvern for about 15yrs and it is our annual holiday away together. Absolutely love it and start looking forward to the following years show the minute the current one finishes on the Sat afternoon !

OK for you to be pleased!!! Do we toss a coin for whose gonna do mucking out and whose gonna do the exercising?? We can get the girls to do the barbie whilst we're working (unless they take an orse toooo!!!) Methinks we're gonna have to take a few extra peeps to share the work!!!

Newbie, sorry we have taken over your thread a bit. Which classes were you planning to take your mare into ~ ridden, western, in-hand, jumping, dressage or all the above !
Best place to look for B&Bs is the Malvern's website. I usually get sent a copy of their tourist brochure and pick one from there, we have stayed in loads of lovely places over the years .

Sorry Newbie, we did take over a bit!!! Why don't you camp on the showground, great fun to be had by all, you can come and join in our bbq if you like, you too jen - the more the merrier!!!
We so have to get up an AL meet this year, I'm really looking forward to meeting friends I have made on these threads.
No secret jen, the 2nd mare "grey" in my sig is going "in-hand" this year, all being well and keeping everything crossed!!!
Hopefully TW's grey mare in her sig is going for ridden next year - aaaahhh - so much to look forward to!!!

Oooh me n Lisa thought we were the only ones to get excited so soon.
Havn't told Lisa yet, but was talking to Dean tonight and have decided to take our veteran mare Mehzari, normaly I won't take anything as this is my holiday and I do rather like a drink.
I'll be in my caravan as always, so....I'll put a sign in the window saying
JILLY N LISA'S PLACE..maybe if those of us that wanted to meet other ALers did the same, we would actualy manage to meet up. |

Jen, yes pleeeeaaase pop in and say hello, me and "the gang (horses)" just love to meet people, especially Mr. Poo, he so luuurrrves visitors, just be prepared for big, wet, sloppy kisses!!! We are just north of Ware, FAO me for direct details. Note: Malvern CANNOT be planned too early!!!
Jilly, soooo want to meet you and give you big hugs (and maybe share a bottle or three???) So will it be your place or mine (mine's a large tent and trailer with plenty of bbq food & booze) or shall we take turns???

Does anyone know when the mare ridden (and inhand) classes is? Are they on the Friday? I just need to know as I've got to arrange time off from work.
I'm thinking of taking my loan mare, Milly, who is a high percentage Crabbet, white grey mare. I'm aiming to do the ridden but I might do the inhand too (if I can shift a few pounds!) and perhaps takjing my old boy Frank along for the veterans?
Any info that I need to know about the show? I've never been before, or been that far with horses before so its going to be a real experience!

Jade, I would book Wednesday to Friday off work, afterall, what is 3 days from you holiday allocation when you are going to have a ball, meet new friends and just enjoy horses for 3 days!!!! We always look at Malvern as a well deserved holiday, even though it's very expensive and when you take horses you have their welfare and happiness to consider.
We also have a long journey to Malvern, but it is all part of the holiday!!!
Sorry that I can't help with which days the classes are, but I am sure that someone on here will answer your question soon!!

No Peg you don't need to qualify but you do need to be a member of the AHS to enter.
If you haven't been before you should. It is a fantastic show with in hand, ridden, dressage, show jumping, western, young hander classes etc. As well as shopping!!!!!!
