No, but our local ecology group are hoping to get a wind turbine set up for the village. If I hear anything useful I'll post for you. I'm not sure how keen I feel as I know they want to put it on the farm where I keep Amelia.

Oh dear, talk about NIMBYism!

I don't have one myself, but I did listen to a very interesting discussion on them - i think on the Radio 4 programme You and Yours. It seemed to suggest that the promised savings in electricity were nothing like those promised in the marketing blurb, and also that you'd have to have one for about 1,000 years (slight exaggeration!) to get anywhere like meeting the cost of buying and installing one.
I'm sure if you went onto the BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk/youandyours) and search, you'll find some comment!
It's a great idea for sure. We all ought to have solar panels or something. I always think we should use be using wave, wind or sun power. It will never be exhausted, but no one seems to be able to harness it cheaply enough.

I think, I read somewhere that the cost for the smallest could be around £1500, we live on top of a hill and get the winds from the West most of the time and seems like a good investment, I also understand that if you combine this with Solar energy, you could turn it around in a much shorter time...get your money back or near...
