...For Ibn Sudan.
In the middle of last year I was having problems with turnout on the yard I was on (the only yard that would take stallions in the area), and to be fair on the horses, Sudan went to live with his new permanent family (Sjade who posts on here and her Mum Jill), my lease mare returned home and the rest went on grass livery till I could move area and find a yard (and believe me, that really is cutting the story short, lol)!
Sudan was diagnosed with a severe heart murmur late last year, the vets are not sure if he was born with it or not. His 'Mummy Jill' was riding him till that point and he was having a ball in his new home.
Unfortunately he now has a problem with his lungs, and is on a 5 day course of treatment (which may do more harm than good to his heart, but the lung problem is more urgent at this time). The next week will determine if he has a few years or a few weeks left.
This little horse has not had an easy life (I think he is on home number 17, and he is only rising 18 now), but he has the ability to bounce back right at you with love and affection. He is in the best of hands with Jill and Sam, whom I can never thank enough, and has been very happy and content since he has been there.
Both Jill and Sam have taken in many waifs and strays over the years, and you may remember the story of El Rashid not so long back. They are what I call 'Proper Arab People'.
Please send all your positive vibes his way to help him fight this, he may have the heart of a lion mentally, but not physically.

I do hope he pulls through. He was living near me when he was three (I think he was three, may have been two) and I also saw him when I was judging at the races. Healing vides on their way.

Aah poor boy - I remeber when he first came over from US to Moat House Stud, it is a shame for horses to get passed around so much. Really hope he manages to pull through |

Judi, big hugs from me, I do hope that all turns out ok, but he does sound to at least be very happy. How nice to hear that despite his problem, there are people like Sam and Jill who love him and sound to have given him a super quality of life...
I am hoping to be at the auction on wed's, will you be there? would be nice to see you and have a catch up. xx |
