To sell my lovely gelding, I'm going to miss him soo much...... But I know its the right thing to do, my mortgage comes first....so my family and friends keep telling me and I just cant keep two, I'm taking consolation in keeping my mare tho..;0)Why do I will so sick tho' like Im letting him down.. There is nothing quite like having them pick you up at your worst times, my two kept me going when my marriage fell apart shouting me for breakfast etc. I have had a fantastic 2 years having celebrity and its heart breaking, well it will be when he leaves, I will do my best to make sure his new Mum will give him the best as I have and I will never forget how many times he made me smile!Even tonight soaking me in a puddle walking to the field. I'm off to Spain tomorrow to meet my Boyfriend whos there on business so I hope he has valentines plans to cheer me up, I'll need it.

How hard for you Emma. I keep thinking about him actually as he is so gorgeous. I'm hoping to breed a foal next year which will cost loads over time and take ages to hopefully end up with a nice ridden horse. I keep wondering why am I doing this when there is what looks like, a near perfect ridden horse for sale at a very reasonable price! Wierdly enough, I couldn't justify keeping two grown up horses at once but can justify a foal in my head. I hope you find a good home for him because he looks wonderful, he's really caught my eye that's for sure !

Your boy looks very nice indeed Shame you have to sell him. I'd eat dirt rather than sell my boy, well I'd like to think so! I couldn't imagine selling him, it must be so hard for you! i hope you find him a good home. |

Emma
I started with one horse and now have six, and wouldn't want to part with any of them, even my failed and somewhat lively anglo racehorse, and yes they mean more to me than anything.. I know its maybe stating the obvious, but have you explored either loaning him or sharing him. If your circumstances changed in the future you would still have him.

Emma, you're gelding is absolutely stunning gorgeous - I tried to convince my mum that Pasha needs a brother to play with (especially as you're just down the road from me)! Unfortunately i'm a bit short of pennies having just splashed out on a new trailer but otherwise I would have snapped him up! I hope you find a lovely home for him... |

Believe me, I have looked into loaning him out, but my priority must be my home first, having a roof over my head and paying the bills has to be first. Now I would eat dirt if it meant that my horses are healthy, but lets face it they are our chosen luxury and I can only afford to keep and compete one of them, so my Mare is staying put. One thing I won't do is get into any kind of un-nessessary debt. Just to keep them both. Also I was finding that I was doing half a job on trying to compete two, this way I can do a full job on working one! Hopefully I have already found him a wonderful home..... |

Its posts like yours Emma that remind me why I havent got more than one horse. Thank you! I think we should start a thread showing successful purchasing and loaning through AL. I am sure your lovely gelding will be very happy and its so much nicer for you to be solvent.
