Shirley - as Sally says Lace is by Fahim Hissan out of Midnight Grace who is herself by Mr Beajangles. I remember when Jameel and I were competing that a few of similar (ish) breeding were competing at the time. Some were brilliant (Cumbria Za springs to mind who later went to the Gulf) and some were really naughty!! Could have been the upbringing!
We'll be coming up to do a ride, ooh, about 2008 I think!
Don't worry - we'll get back into it before then. Might do some helping or crewing if I can figure out all the new rules!
CAM2 - yes, Wendy did breed Jameel. He's the son of Alpine Shadow! He bucks too! - just like his Mum. You'll have to come and see him sometime.

Bev, Sally,
Went to Mirage Webb Site so found out who was by who. Fell in love with all your horses especiallt Jaq. I have a very dark (black with sprinkling of white hairs) 2 yr old by Black Sultan who is by Mista Beaujangles out of a grey Polish mare. She will be grey eventually like her dam but she carries a black gene. Next year I hope to put her to a black boy, her head needs to be improved, not that its bad but could be a little more refined. I have always wanted to ride a Black Arab!!!
Bev, what rides are local to you?
Off to bed to dream! Shirley

We're local for the Yorkshire rides, some of which can be a bit tough as you know.
We're about hour and a half from the Nottinghamshire rides which gives us a nice contrast with much faster going than we tend to have locally.
Jac's lovely isn't he

Hi Shirley yes I'm off to Texas in about 3 months. The weather over in New York isn't fit for anything to be out in and the horses have to be quarantined there and transported down. Well, I have 9 horses here and if I can't sell at least 2 of them then it looks like they will all be coming with me. A mammath task. At least I don't have to have passports for them so I save on that. They will be staggered on the journey over there so the all come out of quarantine at the same time.
My stallion is Elegant Gold by General Gold out of Bright Marina by Salamanca. He stands at 15h, beautiful mover. The horse next to him in my signature is his daughter Razina Gold which a lot of people will know from showing her. She came 3rd a few years back at Malvern but the crowd put her first. We had the best applause of that class.

Sue - and you're taking little Dave with you aren't you
I think he's lovely but I'm not a chestnut person. You on the other hand quite obviously are
Will you keep us posted with lots of details of the move and settling in etc. What a fantastic adventure.
I want to retire abroad too but I think we'll go to France and sadly not for some time yet because I can't afford it. Somebody keeps spending my money when I'm not looking.
Please only give us the edited highlights of your adventure though - I don't want to hear any nonsense like "here we are, relaxing with a G & T on the deck watching the sun go down". It'll only make me jealous

well when you have days like today that start out raining then turns into a full scale blizzard and my partner telling me it's going to be 70 in Texas it makes me feel jealous that he's over there and I'm stuck here. But I won't rub it in next winter when I'm riding out in the sun and it's snowing in England. Ha,you want to bet???
Just think no mucking out. Strange though that they still get a winter coat. Some nights can be cold getting down to 33/34 but not a lot of them. it makes up for it in the day though.
What did I say, 70!!!!!!!!!!

The paperwork alone must be a nightmare to move all your horses to the USA. I'm just taking one to France to do a ride over there and bringing him back, I'm having a fit now!
