Susan,
Silver Blue Wings IS by Silver Blue and out of Silent Dove. She is full sister to Al Waha's mare Ivory Wings, dam of Imad (by Golden Cavalier). Wings was a gorgeous mare.

Hi Nick,
Yea, it really is a great female line. Thought you might be interested with your pending Gai Radiant foal - we bred Ivory Wings to Gai Warsaw many years ago to have Inass (she's on my web site under the Press section). Inass was sold to France at Gucci's dispersal, wanted to buy her back but she was way out of my price bracket !!
When the foal is born (fingers crossed for a beautiful filly as a continuer ), please email me photos or post what the foal is like. How exciting, I bet the foal will be a super goodie.
Is your mare Faery Dancer bred by the Plaistow's? And was a B.N.Ch?
Ivory is due to foal to Al Waha's new stallion, Simeon Sadir but not until June as Sadir was imported so late in the season. Can't wait needless to say!

for Shirley Charlton.
I have a Polish / English cross. She is all old English on the dams side, with all the old Imperial stud lines, and by Luxor bred by Patricia Lindsey.
She is a lovely mare, very like her sire, heavily fleabitten with a nice head. Before I bought her, the only time she was shown she was 4th at Haydock, in a strong class. She has excellent proportions, and very light movement, and has produced some really nice foals, the first one was second at Haydock its only show.
I suppose if you are choosing a mate for any mare you will look to see if the stallion complements her, and if you have both stallion and mare they are right before you.
I have various bloodlines, but all carry at least 50% English, and although some may not be extremly exotic they re all good 'horses'. |

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the reply! I am dying for this foal to be born, my first home bred Arab. I've bred other horses and ponies but this one seems so extra special. I have till July to wait, reading about all the other foals being born is torture!!!!!!

Just catching up here! I saw Gai Gayla at a local show here in Kent (Whitstable way) several years ago. She was owned by a lady who ran a riding school/livery yard. I think there is a head shot of her in an old AHS news, possibly Winter 1987. I'll have to have a look.
I think my Polish x Crabbet/Old English girl is pretty wonderful! So the cross gets a big thmbs up from me! I may be a bit biased of course!

Hi, I'm only just catching up on this thread too Shirley, We have crossed the polish + english for years with our White Lightning / Bey Shadow crosses. We are still breeding those lines and our Camargue Too has a very strong english pedigree with a dash of polish
We have had some fantastic horses from the polish english cross (world Champion)even
And they haven't been just show horses, all our horses are first and foremost riding horses.
But i also agree with Pat the stallion must complement the mare whatever the strain

Thanks everyone, I didn't go to buy the mare herself, it was her filly foal I wanted, when I saw the photo's of the filly and her mam!!!! Well I had to have her, so both came home.
I'm hoping Dollar will improve on her head. In every other way I like her very much. Plus her bloodline has excellent performance horses in it. So fingers crossed its a filly foal and I can keep it. If its a colt, I've promised it to France. I may live to regret this promise!!!
I have a double Banat mare that will be covered late spring and I'll get very excited when her foal is due, she was my Christmas present. At least I'll be getting excited with everyone else next year, instead of waiting till summer time.
Think we'll be looking for another Stallion next year, Crabbet or Crabbet/Old English. Had thought about an older one as we don't show but this showing of Arabs is quite appealing. Dollar and I will be doing a couple of "Fit horses" classes, if we can find any near enough, also some Costume classes.
I used to show and breed Welsh A's but I always wanted a stable full of Arabs. Well my dream is reality now and I love them. I still dream about a foal running with its mam in the paddock. That I hope will be reality this year. Think I'd better get everything I want at the stables done early this year, as I can see when the foal is born, I'm just not going to want to do anything but sit and watch it.
Off to bed now to dream!

Shirley - has Cath made you promise to let her have the foal back if it's a colt? I wondered how you had prised Dollar off her. She does love her boys!
CAM2 - Jameel, the grey below is a White Lightning Grandson and has been a great long distance horse for me and a super riding companion. I'm now really appreciating his lovely nature as he acts as "big brother" to Tamba who's just turned 9 months.
You're on my sales territory Shirley - I feel a few apointments in the North East coming on when the foal is here!

Hi Bev,
Your more than welcome to come up and see the baby. No, Dollar came here before I made the promise. Cath has asked every mare owner who has used Dollar, "if its a colt and you don't want it, I'll buy it". All the colts born up to now havn't been for sale. So I'm telling the mare owners who come to Dollar the same thing. Poor soul she is desperate to get a Dollar son. Also another son has to go to France too, plus I want one!
Whats the breeding of your new boy?

Shirley - please do keep us posted. I will so definately want to see the baby and I'll take you up on your offer to visit. Poor Cath - she could be waiting forever for a Dollar son. Ian has Jameel's half brother - Jameel is officially Northroyd Alpine Cloud.
My new boy is Mirage Tamba and I got him from Sally at Mirage Arabians. He's by her young stallion Jacadah Ibn Tazada out of Cumbria Night Lace. He's a Vympel granson on dad's side (who I'm dotty about!) and a Fahim Hissan grandson on mum's side so some nice performance/endurance lines there. Mum and dad are both on Sally's web site
http://www.miragearabians.com/
I wanted something completely different from Jameel as I've had Jameel since he was a baby and he's a family pet so I didn't want to keep comparing them. That's the only reason I avoided all those lovely Polish lines this time.
Tamba is quite tall, great legs and a lovely mover without being over extravagant. He's also quite bold, not too fizzy and looks you straight in the eye. As you'll know yourself - when you're out there, lost, miles from the finish, it's chucking it down and there's no-one in sight - you really need to LIKE your horse
Of course..........now that I've got him I've just remembered all the hard work that went into getting from baby to superstar

Your right Bev, you really have to have that "something" between you. Trust is another thing, being out in the middle of nowhere, alone, it isn't fun if you have a naughty horse. I trust my lot completely, Dollar has never told any of my secrets. He just listens without any comment. I also think he has a built in compass, he always knows the way back to the wagon. Just as well, my map reading is terrible.
Let me know if your coming up to one of our rides. Is Cumbria Night Lace by Mista Beaujangles?
