Hi, just moved to Snitton which is 3 miles out of Ludlow on the road to Kidderminster.
Changing topic somewhat - where can you buy shavings round here at a decent price?! I say decent as in Bristol (where everything is usually more expensive than up here) I used to pay £5 a bale but up here in Countrywide they are nearly £7 a bale - ouch!

Countrywide is pricey !! Try going to www.herefordequestrian.co.uk (includes worcs and shrops) and checking out suppliers. I do know of a cheap place near Eardiston(on the tenbury/worcs road) but it's a bit far for you. I'm on straw this year as the horses are out but with a huge barn to come and go in so I'm not sure. You could also ask at the lovely lady at the tack shop near parys rd in Ludlow-she's great |

God I didn't realise you were all so close to me
Pat, I am trying to get a bulk order of Natural Flake Shavings delivered to my yard. I will need to order loads, which is a bit of a pain as there is only 4 horses on my yard & I'm hard up I think they will work out at £5.18 per bail. If you would be interested in having part of my bulk order, let me know.
If anyone else is interested let me know 'cause I think I will need to order something like 480 bails
It's great to find out you are all quite close

Yes me too. I have a contact for "Diceabed" sort of chopped cardboard. Only used it in my wagon, could find out more if it interests you. By the way do you guys know if there is a sympathetic horse person in Shropshire who breaks and schools. My youngster pretends to have attitude but it's all front and I am anxious that he goes somewhere where they will recognise it as as harmless as it is. |

I live just east of the West Midlands (if you see what I mean!), ie the other side of Rugby and would be interested too depending on where you think you might visit. |

Mandy I would be interested in the stud visit as well. Great idea.
Jennie I don't know anyone in Shropshire but I know of someone really good and experienced near Chester. He would certainly be worth travelling to.He did an amazing job on my friend's 2 youngsters who had hardly been handled when they went to him and they both had 'attitudes'. My filly is going to him after New Year Rachel |

Caroline (treasure) where are you!!! I'm between rugby and daventry !!!! . I may go for a stud visit but I have almost def decided to NOT breed any more arabs as A. if it was a filly I'd want to keep it.. and not really got the space/time/money/energy. and B. there seems to be so many arabs available for sale without me adding to the problem. However I could pos be tempted. Heather. |

Heather,
I live near Crick/Yelvertoft. I have three, mare Khazana, gelding Tas (Fantastic Silver) and new baby filly just arrived from Michelle and Hugh Segre (Malawi). Where are you? Clearly not very far! What horses do you have? |

Caroline, I used to live in rugby and kept two arabs at diy livery in yelvertoft. about 18 yrs ago got married and got a cottage with 3 acres near Grandborough village (Woolscott) about 2.5 miles out from Dunchurch. Got pure mare Asheena Silver, 3/4 part bred mare Colebridge Crystal and 3 miniature ponies. Used to have colt Ali Saleem (by Rusleem) but could not manage all on my own (no horsey family/helpers) so reluctantly sold him. Have two retained breedings which I probably wont use... but it's tempting. heathermcbreen@yahoo.co.uk if you want to email me, dont want to take over mandys post. |
