Hi guys,
Does anyone out there know anything about Rislina? She is my boy's (Silvern Scepris - Silvern Sceptre x Rislina) mum, but I never hear anything of her!!
Any info would be good! Thanks
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, Rislina (also Silvern Risalm's mum) was owned by Linda Hannaford and was transferred to a friend of mine after Linda's death. She was then sold on and bred to a TB stallion, and then she was sold on to an owner in Ireland, where I still believe her to be. If you particularly wanted to contact her new owners I might be able to ask the 'in between' owner if he can give me a contact. She was chestnut with white, GSB - rare bloodlines now - not very tall (14.2hh?), and was a dominant mare who was going to be top girl in the herd come what may!! My friend did back her and she was ridden for quite some time, then loaned to a local rider for hacking before going on to this chap I also know. Amazing how some very desirable bloodline Arabs were passed on during the Arabian doldrums of the 90s

Thanks for that Roseanne, it's such a shame she's not in the country any more. I do have a picture of her and Andre as a foal and he is very similar to her, he is also very dominant too. Do you know how old she would be now? |

She would be getting on - I'd say 18 or even older. I might be able to get more information about her from her owner when she was still here. It seems such a waste she's being bred to non-Arabs! I can't remember whether she was leased here from the Pecks or the Plaisters. She had a daughter here called Amiriana, (who is full GSB) by a young stallion called Winter's Amir - now gelded - who was bought from us by Gaynor Hunt (Raqasa) who has the thread on Discussion (English Supporters I urgently need your help). Amiriana, a grey, has inherited the strong character too!!! |

I googled her name and there was a bay arab colt for sale in Ireland and she is his dam. I e-mailed the seller of the colt and they happen to own Rislina too. She is owned by Rosemary Watt and is living in Co. Limerick. She also sent me some pictures, which I will post when I get home. (I can't see any photos on my work pc!) |

Hey well done. I wonder what the colt is like? I'd be fascinated to see your pictures. He's likely to be good since she does produce good stock (have to watch the temprament I think, but it seems to be among other horses rather than with humans - sort of head of the herd stuff which is probably good natural survival stuff...). However you couldn't get better temprament than Risalm! |

I'd definately agree with that, Andre is an angel with people and with other horsese, but he is definately the boss of the herd! Please could you e-mail me? tiger_lilly1@btinternet.com
Thanks
