Can anyone remember Shapur a grey Stallion, I beleive may have been by Carmargue? He used to be stabled near me a few years ago in the High Peak just wondered if anyone new where he is now. He made a lasting impression on me but have never seen or heard of him showing for along long time.

He was actually full brother to Camargue. - by white lightning out of velvet Shadow.
He was owned by Graham & Irene Beverly who had their stud at peak dale if i remember right?
Dont know what happened to him when they "sold up"

Hi Jayne
I new there was a connection to Camargue some where, thanks for the info. I remember once he escaped and ended in one of our fields and I seem to remember something in the local paper about him showing in Paris but apart from that things are a bit cloudy. |

There is a grey Arab Stallion called Shapur closely related to Camargue lives in Chinley, High Peak .I think he's late teens or early 20's.He sired Charisma .a filly from the mare I loan 8 yrs ago .He's ridden out regularly. |

his only progeny - per the datasource are:
SHANAVA AHSB*24289 1993 Stallion Bay out of BANAVA PURFECT GRACE AHSB*31316 1998 Mare Chestnut out of Gracious Harmony
He would be 22 now, but Chinley is only 3 or 4 miles from where he used to be so it is probably him.
What a "super" set of bloodlines to be hidden away & not breeding. |

Yes, Rostam was the older full brother of both Cam and Shapur-the baby of the lot, methinks. |
