Hello Sue
Do you mean Indriss (Indian Magic x Rissalma(Dargee x Rissiletta))? If so I think he was bred by Mrs. E.Thomas, who was an influencial breeder at the time. He was well thought of as a sire and was used by non other than Joanna Maxwell on her foundation mare Kazra (that's some recommendation for a horse!) to produce Kazminda who bred a host of good horses inlucding Khamala. The same Indriss x Kazra mating produced Muzri who when sold to Mary Wragg founded a dynasty at Stapleford Arabians. As if that wasn't enough Indriss was then sold to Marchioness Townshend as a foundation sire for Sky Arabians in Norfolk. There he sired some lovely mares including Song of the Sky (out of Nawarra) who bred on well, producing show & race winners. Indriss is the maternal grandsire of my gelding Sky Cymbal hence my interest in him. He ended his days at the Sky Stud. A picture of him is in the AhS news autumn 1972 no 35 pg 36.He is advertised as 14.3hh dark chestnut & appears quite a stocky compact horse.
Hope this is of interest.

Yes it is that Indriss, thanks Angela! Hope you will be able to find the photo Hannah!
He must have sired the mare Indranhi (Indriss x Mishani) when he was at Sky I guess. Hannah, have you found out anything about her?
By the way, not sure if you know but I heard from someone that Bint Alyf was sold to Saudi Arabia. Not sure if she's still alive.
How are you getting on with your book? |

Hi sue, We brought rodney Brian Bolton who i think brought had him from the race track, he was bred at Park arabians owned by Mr and Mrs Wright. and shown by them, When he was 3 he stood at the Wentworth stud with Steve McMorrow. he then sired the 2 foals Xsara and Kreuze in 1997. He then went racing, and we brought him from there. Im desperatly trying to find pictures and information out about his babies. It would be nice to hear about rodneys offspring. Xsara was a bay filly out of Largin Topaz? Kreuze was a bay colt out of Nasrals princess.
Ive had a look on the allbreeds site and there werent down there so i have added them, and there pedigrees do look nice (of course im biased as rodney is my baby!!)
Would you be able to send me some info about Al Malik and Bright Gleam? thanks, Hannah |

Hi Sue, Voyajer is fine thanks, went out for a ride today and he was like dynamite after spending two days indoors in the bad weather I'd love to see the pic of Vesper!!!
Rodney, yes he is Kalibar, is Voyajer's half brother, same sire, but also related on the dam side as Rodney's grand dame is Voyajer's dame. So two very similar horses - they look like two peas in a pod |

Hi Tabita, I guessed the interest was through the Bint Alyf/Emir Alyf,,,small world. Vesper and the gang had a good trip to Portugal,I think they did 60+ miles and ended with a bruised heal bulb...otherwise fine..and well after the trip, took about four days to get then there and the same coming home, Emm flew back to ARO race some where...Christines horse got a place and did realy well. Will see if I can manage to put a pic up here of Voyajers daughter. and did you manage to get a pic..the good one out of the tack room, for your self.....

Hi, i have some pictures already from the allbreed site. i would really just like to know a little bit of what they did with their lives, were they shown do they do well. who owned them were they improted/exported. just bits like that
for expample i have ...
Arax, bay 1952 stallion who stood at michalow stud? he was then exported to Russia and was the leading russian sire 1959 - 1969 at the tersk stud. then in 1969 he was purchased by Dr. Houtappel of Holland.
ive tried searching the web but without much luck!
just any lillte bits anyone knows, or pics they have would be great. its just to add to a book as an xmas present for my mum.
thanks, Hannah |

Forry to barge in on this conversation but if you go to Google and write in Arax but click 'images' above the bar, you'll get a page of photos and there's a couple of Arax. I think I have a colour one on my system but I'll have to ask Jude (Jingo) first, she'll know if it is him. He looks very nice indeed, and I think he's in my boy's pedigree. |

Klarnet(1975) From article by Deirdre Hyde on Aswan(1958) from 1992. Klarnet was leased to the UK in 1984 for one season, it says Klarnets influence on racing in this country was nothing short of dramatic.Exported to Italy,Full brother to Kilimanjaro a record holder, some offsprings.Klavier,Kwartet,Kyloe,Silkhan.Silvena, and Chatelaine (Lesley Dunn's mare). Also mentioned Nrav Ibn Aswan.. Aswan was a gift to the Russian Government in 1963,his registered name in the Egyption Stud Book is Rafaat.
A reference to the Polish stallion Arex (Amurath-Sahib/Angara)who stood at Tersk, or traced in direct female line to mares acquired from Poland.
I believe Klarnet was at Claverdon Lodge, Warwickshire...
for Ref. To Klarnet (above)& this article is in AHS 79/1992pg.46. (I do have a copy of this mag for sale). Al Malik(1968) (pic in AHS No.43,1976 & was at Stud with Grange Arabians.Boston, Lincs...stud fee £150.. |
