I must have a photo of Dalika - think there was one in an old Crabbet book - will have a rummage and see what I can find - in fact somewhere I have a pic of Diamond and his mum as a baby at Jane Pointers Cranham Arabian Stud. Watch this space |

Thanks Judith, they look lovely...I found the for sale notice the other day when Diamond Star was originally for sale, I also saw somewhere a report that he'd gone to you in Stoke Prior. Lovely horses, Thanks Sue... |

Is the original for sale notice, the one of him trotting across a field? When I bought him, I swore he would NEVER leave us and he never has - he's burried here overlooking the rest of the horses And he lives on in his children and grandchildren |

Judith, No, No picture just the add of Diamond Star for sale, I think it said due to owners ill health and that he was broken to saddle, also a reference only, in an atricle about the line, (which we are interested in) and said the horse would have a good home with you.....You don't happen to have a pic of Dalika in her best toggs.....and I'm afraid thats just how I am with horses, I never like to part with them, usually get dug in at the end....I would never make a breeder, never sell anything.......Sue |

Wow Judith,
The b/w photo of Diamond Star as a foal is almost identical to the one I have of Oscar and Rose (one from the end in my signature). I can't believe the similarity between a foal and his great granddad - especially considering Oz's sire is from completely unrelated lines. Do you remember how old he was in that photo?
It really made us smile!

Karen, I'm guessing but would think approx a yearling He looks fairly well grown to me
Just shows how certain traits pass down to the offspring - quite remarkable. As mentioned we have three offspring of Diamonds here - two bay (tiny bit of white) daughters from a grey mare and one deep liver chestnut (no white) from a chestnut mare - so no flashy chestnuts with chrome
Maybe the next generation will throw them |

Hi there,
Yes, he's still whole, not particularly colty and very cuddly. Haven't really decided what to do with him yet - the grand plan was to sell him at weaning but as he's now 17 months old that obviously didn't happen!
I'll try to find some more recent piccies.

Hi Sue,
Sorry to go off topic, but I couldn't find an email address for you. You wouldn't by any chance happen to have nbs 70, 71, and 72 would you? I'm especially interested in the winter 88 issue (nb 71 I think). Please email me at annefinnerup@yahoo.com
Thanks
Anne |
