Arabs start around 10 ish in the Caldene Arena where you have to grab seats after the coloured class finishes, so be ready in the sidelines!!! See you there Jen! My faves are Toman and DG for stallions. |

If you're really early working hunters in the main arena. Quite fun, the jumps are big and some really nasty stiles and things! They're judged for style as well as going clear. My neighbour Louise Bell and her husband Robert usually do very well in that with horses like Out of Sight, Little Rock etc. You can see the whole Friday timetable on www.hoys.co.uk. The Arab championship is about 3pm in the main arena. |

a little off topic i know(sorry), but i'm going to watch on the friday as was wondering if i would be ok to take my canon 300d camera, i've not long had it am teaching myself how to use it, so thought would be good experience. in the leaflet that came with my tickets it says cameras ok as long as not professional and no flash. what are your thoughts? thanks |

Hello Loub,
my only reservation would be that it's quite dark in the Caldene Arena although not so bad in the main one. Indoor photography is hard enough as it is but even more challenging without a flash. I suppose as long as you are not expecting outstanding results, then taking your camera along for practice is no bad thing hope you will share any good ones with us!

Hi Jen,
course i'd share any good photos with you all. no i'm not expecting outstanding results, just wanting to practise and have some photos to remember my day, esp as a friends stallion is competing there, and i'm taking my son this year and he doesn't yet know he's going as he'l be soooooooooooooo excited.

Lou you may have a problem in the Caldene arena as the seating is right next to the horses, but in the main arena loads of people use flash photography. Though the lighting there is so good you should be able to get great pictures with a fast film. |

Just a few notes regarding HOYS next Friday. Once again I will be taking my pew to watch the classes with interest and put pen to paper for the AHS Yearbook as I do every year. Once again should be a good line up, I have been watching you all through the season and have my personal thoughts on what may happen but hey - this is the best show of the year and anything can happen ! so, if you are competing enjoy the day and soak up the atmosphere you have worked hard to be there. If you are spectating then support your favourites, hit the champagne bar and enjoy the party ! Some other notes which may be of interest to you all are: (as of todays HOYS official timetable) Arabs start 10.40am with Geldings in Caldene Arana Mares/Stallions follow. Championship International Arena 2.40pm. Other classes of interest Coloureds 7am-9.25am Caldena Arena./ Childrens Riding Ponies 1.10pm-3.40pm Caldene Arena. / 2.10pm Search for a Star Final International Arena. Those staying for evening don't miss Household Cavalry, Caracole Display and all the Showjumping and PC games you can cram in between ! Have a great day all. |

Re Transport to NEC - there is a coach going from Wrotham Heath in Kent to Nec and back on Friday 6th Oct. £25 per person return. MUCH cheaper than driving or by train. Ring me for details Rachel 07711-838319 |

I hope that we do well with Salazeer, we have been doing a lot of practicing indoors becauhe does not like it, last week we went to the Royal London and got 1st and then won the champion ship.
Please would people come and say hi if they see us, i am so nervous about going this is our first time and i will just be so proud of him even if we dont get anything, i just want him to do a good show for the judge.
I will be wearing a purple Tshirt with team 007 on the back licenced to thrill.
It will be nice if people would say hi
thanks again
