So pleased that you like my lads!!
The photos were taken on the Radnorshire hills in mid Wales - just behind the smallholding that we have just sold.....have now moved further into Wales (near Builth Wells) to a 55 acre Welsh hill farm - the riding is even better here!! If anyone would like to visit we would be delighted to put you & your horse up! We used to do SC & B&B for equines & their riders at our last place...will do B&B again..but not for a while as got lots to do to the house - but could manage to do the odd B&B & horse until we get up & running!
Anyway...the grey is a ten yr old gelding, Sharif al Quua (Sly) - sire Kashan (Ahmoun/Blue Gleam), dam Shahera (Asfiya/Esmerelda). I've owned him since he was a baby & along the way hes had lots of problems - but hopefully all OK now & he will start his endurance career next year.
The bay is a five yr old gelding that I bought as a two yr old from a friend for the pricely sum of £200! - I have that gut feeling that hes going to be the best horse that I've ever owned! His sire is Rameed (Gaymet/Radsilla), dam Rumbolds Contessa (Charmer Basb/Bask Juanita) - hes pure bred but his breeder didn't bother to register him as they thought he wasn't up to much....if only they could see him now!! Hes bold, forward going but ever so nice & sensible with it & boy can he walk & trot!! Might try a couple of endurance rides with him next season. I've named him Rowan Razy....Rowan after the wild Rowan trees growing on the Welsh hills.

Hi

I think they look great - out on the hills, enjoying themselves and you with them. I always still end up looking at the Arabs (including the show horses) and thinking - would I like to ride that?

I have a stallion who, to date, has done pretty well on the show ground, and there will hopefully be more to come in the future, but he is also a cracking riding horse, great fun, loads of character and a wonderful ride (what a buzz every time, riding a 15.2hh Arabian Stallion!!). I should mention that he would also be very bored if he was just doing in hand showing, and I really value the time I spent out on him, blowing the cobwebs away after a day at work. Having a show horse certainly isn't everything, but riding an Arabian... well!!!

Best of luck with them - maybe meet you out on some of the fun rides? (When winter is over.... sniff...)

Best wishes,

Mary
