Hi, I took this photo while practicing with my new digital camera at a group show at Malvern earlier this year. I was really surprised to see how nice the photo turnned out. I have been meaning to try and contact the owner of the horse but haven`t a clue who she is. Hope somebody on this forum can put a name to a face as I am sure if anybody had a good piccy of my horse I would be thrilled to see it. I know only that he is a stallion and a son of Crusader. Thanks. Dean. Aztec Arabians

Mike maybe you can help, have re-sized the pic to make it bigger but when I put it in the signature box on my profile thing it still comes out as a small pic.

Dean
I think I recognise the lady - she lives near me here in Bristol. I met her at Susan George's a few times - think her name is Mary (I'm terrible at remembering names!) Don't know if she subscribes to Arabian Lines. I know we have the same vet so if she doesn't respond to this post I will try and get her number from him and let her know. If the picture was bigger I could same for sure whether or not it is her - but she does have a Crusader son!

Thanks Dean - actually you showed one of my horses for me once a long time ago. It was the mother of Sadika who is Woodlay Angelika - I think you showed her for me at the Nationals - she is due to Essteem in February - I can;t wait!!!

Hi Dean
I think i saw this horse at Wales & West he may be a stallion by Crusader, so i looked back the catalogue and there were 3 stallions by Crusader as follows Madaba owner M. Denning (think it may be him) Spanish Crusader Mrs B Gregory and Kouras Mrs L Shawyer if it is one of these i can give you her address from the catalogue.

Hi Dean... Im pretty sure that this horse is Madaba, as Ive got some pix of him from the Nationals or somewhere wearing the same bridle. Im sure his owner has posted on the forum before, so maybe she will see this and contact you herself. Fiona |

Cheers Leigh-Ann, From what Pat is saying and what you have said, it must be Madaba. If you can e-mail me her address I can send her a piccy in the post. Nice early Crimbo Prezzie, I took the photo in high resolution so can send a nice 10x8

Hi Leigh-Ann, My Pictures were big to start with then I put them on the MSN group thingy to get the gobbldygook code thingy. Anyway I copied the number then pasted in the signature thing on profiles. Can`t figure it out unless they are automatically reduced on the MSN site. Do you use the Fotki one? I was on there to start with but then they slapped me with a bill after my trial period ran out!!!

Sorry to slightly change the subject but i have a question for PATTHANY. Would you know if your mare Sadika is the dam of RAS Siska now owned by Judy Stafford-Charles?

No, Sadika was bred by me and Aziza is her first foal by Arastin so she can't be the dam of Judy's horse!!

Hi Dean
I have my pics on the Arabian Club picture gallery and when i downloaded them the were alot bigger, but when i added them to my signature they were tiny so i think they must resize them. I'm sure if you asked Mike to make them bigger he will help you out he seems to be a computer whizz..

Hi Dean
Yes - its my boy Madaba. Its so kind of you to try and find me and him! Midland was only my second attempt at showing him (Wales and West was the first, and rather hairy!!), so to get a lovely photo would be brill. My address is as posted above: the Barn, Regilbury Court, Benches Lane, Winford, Bristol BS40 8DS and I would absolutely LOVE the photo! You are the Dean Ingam who shows, or am I thinking of the wrong person?
He is a lot more woolly now than he was in the picture, but his head is drying out and getting better all the time!
He was bred by Pat and Joanna Maxwell and got 4th Nationals 2002 and 3 UK Internationals 2002, with Mike Ashmore showing him, which was a fantastic year for me. He is also my ridden horse and a cracking ride. I never saw Crusader in the flesh myself, but I am told he is very much 'son of' - but he is a big baby and very loving too. It gives me a buzz every day just to see that head over the door whinnying to me!!
Its great to read about everyone else's horses on the site and hear what's going on as I get a bit starved of Arabs on the yard where I live and keep my two!
Many thanks again Dean - it was very thoughtful of you,
Best wishes,
Mary

Yep it is me Mary, I manage to get in the show ring from time to time. Have printed the pic out larger on glossy photo paper and it looks real smart, will post to you in next day or two.

Unfortunately Spanish Crusader couldn't make it to the Wales and West (or any other shows) as he had a very bad accident at 18 months (broken jaw, three legs in a state etc) and although he appeared to be OK when he was being got ready for the ring he went unlevel on the leg that was the worst at the time so no shows for him.
He is out of my Maxwell bred Spanish mare (hence the name) and is a big handsome boy. He has a lovely yearling filly who is going to be shown next year all being well. I am hoping that he will eventually be OK as it would be lovely to show him (and get a few nice mares to him!). I have to keep him as a stallion and hope he produces well as if I have him gelded and he doesn't stay sound to be ridden what would happen to him if I wasn't around, he is far to big to be a pet to anyone other than me but with his breeding if he sires nice foals hopefully he would get a good home if I couldn't keep him for any reason. I had a friend who wasn't well, turned out she had pancreatic cancer and was dead within three months, awful. I feel if I have him cut I could be giving him a death sentence if anything did happen to me, a terrible thought!
If I ever get a good photo of him I will post it but I am a really naff photographer. Wish he could have been at the show so you could have got some nice photos of him, Dean; also Marilyn and Peter Sweet (if they were there).
Mary, we have talked "boys" at the shows, Madaba is lovely.
Regards
Barbara
