I'd just like to say congratulations to two British entries at the Emerald Cup this weekend
On the Saturday at the Egyptian Event Lisa Carter of Malthouse Arabians won the senior mares with Ann Potts's Sumayyah and she went on to take Senior Female Champion, was second with Ann Potts's Manayah in the yearling fillies, was 3rd in the 2 yr old filly class with Fariba and Lisa also took reserve Senior Male Champ with Malthouse's home bred stallion Maartial.
And to Jackie Keen and Alan Griffiths who's 3 year old home produced colt Emenes won his class and took Junior Male Champ .... and went on to take the Classic Head ... and then their Stallion Memphis was 3rd in his class both shown superbly by Rhiannon Jones
What a fantastic achievement for British bred horses , competing in Europe and flying the flag Well done to all parties involved .

Those are fantastic results!! Congratulations to everyone concerned.
Just as a subnote - can anyone tell me where Emenes is based, or some contact details for his owners please.
Thanks, Alicia |

Alan and I would like to thank you all for your kind words and to all those that have phoned us with their congratulations.
Emenes did us proud this weekend and so did Rhiannon. Emenes went into the ring as one happy horse who was enjoying himself and this earned him the highest points in the Emerald Egyptian Event over horses from Belgium, Netherlands, Egypt, Israel, UK and Switzerland. So as you can see a real international event.
Our congratulations also go to Glenys Allen, Ann Potts and Dame Josephine Anderson on their success and to Lisa (who I found out cheats at cards)and Darren Carter, who did a great job on producing and showing their horses.
Also a big well done to Sharon (who also cheats at cards!!!!) and Mike on their filly winning the Junior Female Champion on Sunday.
Rossettes the size of dinner plates, good company, lovely weather - all in all a good weekend.
Jackie
oh dear nearly forgot "Memphis" who was 3rd in the Junior Stallion section of the Egyptian Event. |

Many thanks for everyones kind words and phone calls it was a great show. We arrived at the show after a 15 hour trip and the first person we met was Jackie who offered us a long need cup of tea. Now i'm not sure about cheating at cards I think Alan my wee bit I would also like to add that Manayah went on to the Emerald cup and was Reserve Champion to Sharon and Mikes lovely filly. All horses tried and out in paddocks having a well earned rest. Memphis looked great and was shown wonderfully he never seemed to get tired in the heat. Lisa |
