I am awaiting the birth of my foal from a mare which i recently bought back from a friend. I have bred a foal once before but not for many years. I have been reading up trying to refresh things in my mind. I have read and been told so many varying times that a mare is in foal that i am just thinking i am going to spend god knows how long doing checks not that i mind as i am really excited. I am up there early in the morning checking through the day even though this doesnt seem to happen often and then i check usually about 11.15 each night. She was covered last on August 13th 2005. I thought i would post this on here So if any of you more experienced breeders can come up with anything I would be really gratefuly. My vet says 320 day onwards and someone else said 1 year minus 25 days. She is a maiden mare so i want to have a rough idea just incase there are any probs.
i used foalwatch kit and only 1 night up, my mare waxed am and foaled at dinner def worth the money, il be buying when i next have a foal thats for sure as next yr im also covering a maidan and they can often go weeks over
