His dam was distancia, and his sire was pronance. I have put my three year old in foal to him, and was told he was straight egyption, but someone said he was straight russian. my foal will be the first horse i have owned with arab blood, so don't know anything about arab bloodlines. helen

Hoey, hi only just back on and read this one. Sistonce is as Mike says Russian. Distancia was a lovely mare, came to Guccis yard as a 4/5 yr old. With the colt Dante on her, he went on to do well on the track. Sistonce was broken in at Millfield, by Emma Clarke, I think he went racing, but I know Em jumped him, hacked him out etc. Prononce was lovely, beautiful bay, but quite nervy, he was shown in hand, ridden and was on the Gucci showjumping team! He found a good home at the Auction, then died in odd circumstances! Will try to find pic of him. Tina

hi thanks. He was a nice stallion, he suited my mare well they both had qualities I like that each other lacked. I am hoping the foal ends up skewbald, and will be due around april 1st. This will be my first foal. |

Hi Helen, There is a lot of interest in coloured arabs - I assume your mare is coloured? How big is she?
The British National Coloured Foal of the year, at the Foal show last weekend was JCs Aramoon, out of a coloured partbred mare and by the purebred black stallion Aristin. Dave Whittard's Apache Sky also did well as did Phaedra Towler's Cintarro who won a good Riding Horse foal class, he is out of a partbred mare by a coloured partbred stallion bred at the Polish State stud.
I am trying to breed a coloured filly out of my premium purebred arab mare - she is in foal to HM the Queen's coloured stallion Oberon and is due end of May - we had a coloured colt foal from her this year - (pic. is on the foal pics on this site).
Good luck with your foal and let us know what she has. Chris.

hi She is a 3/4tb skewbald mare. She is only three and currently stands 15h1 she still has a lot to develop and come up at the front, as she is just a very slow developer, thats why we put her in foal. She has been showen sucessfully at county level, with many champions, and reamins unbeaten in the coloured classes we have entered her in. I don't know how to post pics, I have a album on a group so here is the address. there is also a pic of sistonce in the album, and a couple of are other horses. http://groups.msn.com/RachaelsHorsesHorsesHorses/honeyscollection.msnw At the moment she looks like a perfect small hunter, with her being in foal, but when she slims down she looks like a riding horse, has nice paces, and a nice slender neck, and intelligent head which, has a slight dip where the nose band sits.(stud thought there was arab in her). We were offered a substantial amount of money for her, but wouldn't part with her. She was an ugly duckling, we brought her as a 9 month old under fed foal, and within 10 months, she was un reckonisable. we are giving her plenty of time to mature because we don't want to ruin her, as she has lots of potential, as an eventer, we have only jumped few times with her, but anything we put her to she clears, or attempts, and hasn't refused anything yet. She was jumping 5 bar gates when she was 9 months old, to run with a herd of cows. the only very bad point about her is her temperament, she is highly strung, and won't stand anybody, apart from my sister and I in her stable, and can be a real bully, with other horses. she can also be very agressive, to other people. though my sister and I can do anything with her. I think it was to do with how she was treated when she was younger, because when we got her it took us 3 months before we could walk her by a pedestrain in the street with out panicking. I want a coloured, but wouldn't really care either way as long as it was healthy. The mares colour was a throwback, from 5 generations on her mothers side, as both parents were bay. |

hi chris he's lovely, nice markings too. I think that colour gives horses more character, and are easily spotted out in a crowd |
