Pat, I can't remember if I did enclose sae or not. The web site is very good! informative and professional. Just out of interest I notice on sundays schedule it says inhand classes not before 1pm. This is good for us but we are class 17 and I wondered if you have any idea when ... very approx... this may be. You will have more of an idea how many entries in class etc. It looks like there are classes 8 - 16 and champ D after 1pm but before our class. Dont want to get there too early and have a very fed up horse. Any one else going, please say hello, I'm the short (slightly plump) ginger 40 something with the big ginger lively 2 year old colt. |

We felt it unfair to our Horses to hang around any longer leaving home at 8am travelling 150 miles at 3+hours would have been wrong of us to have stayed any longer, for the Horses sake, We planned the show to give Abi a practice indoors before Mysercough, It as taught us a lesson no more shows over two hours from home without stabling (3 was our previous maxium)And try to avoid shows that run on from the ridden first, all with one Judge, Time slips away so Quickly and before you know it your are way behind and it is the Horses that suffer, Maybe shows should have an alternative plan if things go pear shape The in hand youngstock could have gone on with another Judge in another ring, Or shows could ring exhibitors with a long journey with a more accurate time table with a not before time for the class When the Judge is asked to to that many ridden and then face the In Hand and not really have time for a Quick snack it is a tough day We did not leave lightly £100 diesel 7 hours travelling, And all the effort and not to show is bitterly disapointing. Well done Jane with Azif..he looked so well. Filling in a couple of the gaps in the results from above:
Yearling Fillies: 1st: Judals Allure 2nd: Tarifah 3rd: Maadinah 4th: Ziaradne (Well Done to a very good 'Young Handler' there's not many adults who could handle a yearling so well!)
Yearling Colts: 1st: AJA Extravagance 2nd: Padrons Muskateer 3rd: Chakka Khan
2/3 yr old Filly/Gelding: 1st: Judals Tiffany 2nd: AA Precious
Mares 4yrs old & Over 1st: FS Zaafinah 2nd: Halleja 3rd: Classic Crystal
Stallions 1st: El Sahir 2nd: Distinkt 3rd: Ibn Benedict
My apologies - I've only got a couple of the Anglo/Part-Bred results...between getting horses ready, maybe someone else can fill in even more of the gaps:
Open Ridden AA/PBA Stallion Mare Gelding 153cms + under 1st: Trellech Countryman 2nd: Gordons Ginny ???3rd: Guard of Honour
AA/PBA In-Hand Cwyrtai Remeldo - Champion Sandby Excella - Res. Champion
I'm sure the full results will be posted by Show Sec. (when she recovers from such a long but successful day). Thanks to all involved!
So sorry Nick, Mair and Abi had to leave, after such a long journey too. The judge certainly did her best and gave everyone a fair quota when being judged, but such a mammoth task...Riding all morning...Novices, Opens in both Pure Bred and AA/PBA sections. Then an equally mammoth task for both sections In-Hand. Good job Ms. Grant-Chivers. Never mind an Easter Egg - You deserve a medal! Maybe organisers will review this for next years' Spring Show particularly as it is increasing in popularity. We finally got home just past 10 p.m. from a 6 a.m. start.(not completely the fault of the show running late on this occasion...'Attention seeking' wagon went into sulk mode AGAIN!).
Love the new web site - Well Done Staffs Group!

Thanks Baymops- he was a bit of a poo in the ridden, didnt go aswell for me as he did last week- little bugger. He wasn't so bothered about the mirrors or banners, it was that something was getting on his nerves. I think he may have wanted a wee.
I was really impressed with how he went for the judge and she gave me some really nice comments, but we only got 6th out of 7. we are both still learning and hopefully cane improve the next time.
Has Mazeer had his wolf teeth out? a friend said his head flinging may be to do with him needing them out? He does this even with a snaffle in.

Thanks Lynne and Jane, We had a dodgy time before getting into the ring. Ali was so peed of after standing in the trailer for 4.5 hours plus the journey I was not the least surprised he was a bit of a handful before I took him in the ring. Fortunately he was quite good in the ring although I had to drag him past the wall mirror.. he had to stop and admire himself. He then rubbed his head on me and his halter was hanging over one ear.....Panic!!!(me not him) anyway got it back on .. and I also forgot I was supposed to walk away from judge and trotted some of it. My brain had shut down with nerves. Thanks esp to Mandy, Beth and Helen for moral support and also Jackie and Andrew, owners of Russkaan who is Alis half brother and was also in our class. I think Fiona Grant Chivers had a very long day doing all the judging. Cheers to all who said hello and well done etc, if I seemed a bit distracted it is because I am a nervous wreck at shows. I had a qualification card in my pocket and forgot to have it signed! |

oh no! i'm sure you will get another chance heather. I think i would have been panacking if the halter came over one ear! Your colt is lovely Heather, i love them with big white faces.
last week i forgot my card and had to get my groom to leg it to the car and then secretly pass it too me with about a minute to spare before getting called in!

Hi Jane
Firstly very well done, My boy was sencond in the yearling colt class, He was very well behaved but a bit overwhelmed, his first show and all. He didnt run anywhere near aswell as he had been at home, he can really move, but its all good experience, he travelled for almost 2 hrs in the lorry on his own and then stood for another 3 or so. So very pleased. He;s at Midlands group next week so we'll see how he goes
Thanks for askin
