Hey everyone,

Im desperately trying to trace my horse that went on loan to Scotland in 2010 as I was in dire straights personally and needed to get my horses out on loan to keep them safe. My beloved boy Brujo has since been taken into hiding by his loaner who refuses to give him back and has ceased contact. She has moved since the start of the loan and I have no contact details for her, other than facebook and she has ignored my requests for an address for her or Brujo. His last known whereabouts were he was being stabled in or near neilston on a yard called capelli lodge, she has since taken him into hiding and I have no idea where he is. I haven't slept since the beginning of this nightmare and just want my boy home safe and sound. He is a bright bay 15.2 hh 11 yo Hispano arabe gelding and is very distinctive being bright bay with a
small star and snip, 2 hind socks and small belly splash on his nearside. Pls pls can all our Scottish members keep their eyes peeled and if you hear of anything pls let me
know. I'm desperate and sick with worry and just want my boy back. I've tried to post a pic but don't have flickr

"Come on everyone lets make sure we are all keeping our eyes and ears open !Brujo cannot have disappeared into thin air ,he is being hidden somewhere, someone knows where this horse is .
As far as I and Im sure many other people are concerned you have allowed yourself to become part of this crime by helping this woman .
I have to say to anyone who like myself has ever loaned out a precious horse remember There but for the grace of God go I !!!!!! so lets keep up the thread and help find Bru"

We do know for a fact that there is a yard owner harbouring Bru in Scotland. That owner is either incredibly isolated from the real world to not have a clue about the hunt for Bru by his owner or does not have any scruples in letting themselves be duped into aiding and abetting this unhinged brat in her scheming.

We know that the culprit is laughing her head off at the people up there in Scotland that she has already used and abused in helping her spread her false trails. She is not by a long way some poor little girl that fell in love with Bru and erroneously tried not to return him. She is a callous scam artist hoodwinking the people who thought they were her friends.

The clock is now ticking the countdown for her to have to come clean and return Bru, if she has the sanity to realise that her game is up. So the question to those 'friends' still aiding and abetting in the concealment of Bru is this: Do you really want to sink with this stupid girl and forever more be sited as being involved in attempting to help her commit this crime?

As another member stated on this thread

"if she is reading this she should also know that the horse world is a small world when it comes to stolen horses and the Hispano Arabe world is even smaller so do the right thing NOW and return Brujo you will not be able to hold your head ever again with honest horse people and you deserve the vilification that is going to come your way way"

Here's a few reminders of the lovely Bru, I'm having a few problems with the new photobucket so sorry about all the text.

Thanks for all the idea's Nat has done most of them !

The press is a difficult one as it could potentially damage her court case, hopefully I'll ge hold of Nat tomorrow and hear what her lawyer thinks about going to the press

Thanks folks, please keep looking

Mandy

How about sending a photo of him to the Auctioneers offices, - as many [older] horsey people don't do facebook etc. so won't see him via internet. [Sales at Exeter tomorrow as he may now be in SW.]

what about sending a pic to local vets and farriers and ponyclubs ?

I have been in the same situation years ago. Could not go to the police as the horse was not stolen, I gave it to a person, even transported it to "my" person - so it was only a "civil" thing, nothing I could involve the police.

after 9 month !! I found my girl - in that time I got a couple of answers and every time I followed them, I just got shocking news that "my" person did not pay for rent himself, rent for horses, took cars, other people equipment's etc. pp.

When I finally found my horse, I had to go to court and had to fight a "title" (sorry, do not have a clue how you call it in England) to get my horse back. If I would have take her home all ready I would have to pay a lot of money. That was hart as well, knowing where my girl was, not taking her home legally, getting someone from court in that stable for getting her legally fixed in that stable and no permission of moving that horse as well (in that way the stable owner and "my" person would had to pay a lot of money). Finally the day at court. I got my horse back - my enemy did not even appear. During that time "my" person took off and did the same thing to other horse owners as well.

I think that was the only time in my life you could call me very skinny!

Good luck - I hope you find your horse.

Some good ideas there from alison.Hope he is found soon.
alison Posted - 07 Aug 2013 : 12:06:40 PM
How about taking out a large advert in the local free horse magazines- wanted missing on loan as heading then big pic of Brujo, don't go into too much detail, just give phone number and Facebook details !!!!! Will certainly shake some people up. Also get lots of A4 posters printed send them to tack shops - feed merchants etc. You could also do a postal drop through the Royal Mail to specified postal areas. Also contact the local editorial desk of all newspapers and Local news stations.
Good Luck
Alison

Do we have some good photos we can all share again on FB and some of the other forums, if so i can pm my email and could you send me one or two even.
Tomos Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 11:26:06 PM
Hi Vik1, the loanee's mother is in the South West which is why he may have been moved to that area.

I'm with Callisto and Ari, keeping it public will hopefully persuade the people with integrity to speak out if he appears.

I'm hoping he's not locked up somewhere, having bred him and kept him until Nat bought him at 2 I know how much he likes being out, he hates being stabled more than overnight.

Thanks again to everyone,

Mandy

Ari Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 8:50:57 PM
Second what Callisto has said. It can't be that easy to hide and move a horse around without help and a very vivid imagination for explanations to Yard Owners and what about family and friends? Surely they can see sense if the "loanee" can't.
I keep thinking how frustrated and desperately worried I would be in this situation. Wishing very hard that Brujo is back home soon
Callisto Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 8:27:19 PM
All I can hope is that the publicity surrounding this case will lead to him being found and returned to his rightful owner, obviously the loanee will be reading this thread, but I truly hope that others will also read it and realise the heartbreak that the owner is going through and make the right decision and reveal where he is.
Vik1 Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 4:44:52 PM
Has the girl moved house when hes possibly been moved to the other end of the country? Or do you think she has sold him?
Pop Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 3:16:33 PM
I cannot help thinking that, given the apparent determination to keep him hidden, that there is Zero chance he is in Torquay or Taunton. Everything here is totally public, and I would bet that if he was there, he isn't now. It would be madness to think that the loaner is not reading this thread.
sab2 Posted - 06 Aug 2013 : 1:14:10 PM
Fingers still crossed for you

Hi again everyone, I'd like to Thank you all so very much for your support again, I've spoken to Mandy and she's relayed all info on to me and I am blown away by people's kind offers of help!!! I just wanted to update the situation that there is a small possibility Brujo could be in Torquay not Taunton. If anyone is around that area can you please keep your ears and eyes open for my boy, he is more than likely to be at livery if he is there I would have thought. I can't believe he's been missing for 2 months now Thanks again everyone!!

As a therapist who has worked closely with both women and children who have been abused and raped, I do not take their plight lightly.

I do however abhore the bleeding hearts who keep pleeding that we view crime from the perspective of the criminal and show compassion to them and thus appear to make light of the distress the victim is going through!

If you read my comment through you will see that is what my analogy is about. The bleeding hearts that keep swinging the plight of Nat's hunt for her horse to the 'grief' of seperation felt by the selfish 23yr old who has taken Bru is not acceptable anymore than it is acceptable for anyone to plead that a rapist has just cause in his actions in any circumstances.

So please, do not take offence or misinterpret the meaning because you have very real emotions that are blurring your view. I know rape is nasty and whether right or wrong of me to use the analogy, it is something I hope none of the members would dare think of as justifiable crime and thus see that the taking of Bru is likewise not justifiable by excuse of compassion for the perpetrator.

Bru is still missing and very possibly has already been moved by a third party (equally callous in their behaviour) to another part of the country. So there is a very real need to seek help and keep people focused on the concern to find Bru and not looking for excuses justifying the conduct of the other person.

In our persuance of information for Bru what has become apparent is the massive numbers of horses missing, many still being hunted months if not years from the time of the initial alert. One case actually sights that the missing poster was pinned up in a livery yard 3 stables along form the stolen horse and everyone in the yard was snickering about it and doing nothing! All those horse owners including the livery yard owner pleaded it was none of their business. Do you understand now what callousness is? Turning your back from one crime makes it easy to do so again.

Nat said we need to look at changes in the future; one that I can see is that as soon as any 'disput' involving return of loan horses occurs there has to be a independent system, perhaps police, horse welfare or trading standards that go straight off to Id the horse, ensure its welfare and lock down any movement of the horse pending the dispute being settled. It would reduce the emotional heart ache of not knowing where the horse is, ensure the horses welfare and force both parties to communicate thus preventing things being prolonged by one party disappearing.

By all means if those of you now joining this thread are doing so to attack me or because the controversy of having thread spats is what you enjoy, then fine at least it means that this thread is kept going. Somewhere along the way the members who do understand the plight of Nat and that so far have not been made aware of the hunt for Bru will now check in here and hopefully they may be the equestrians with eyes open and in a position to pm Nat with info leading to Bru.

Jackiedo I'm with you on this.I don't know what relation Pandora has to the owner and I think she made her opinion clear enough, but really her posts seem a bit excessive.
Nathalie of course I hope you get your horse back asap, too.
