Well I am and I love it! I have taken a week off work to watch the TV coverage and have just a little bit of a flutter...!

Not for me...
Horses are just a £ sign for many...

I was hoping Imperial Commander could win again but it was a great race. Lovely to see Kauto and Denman running so well and Long Run certainly silenced anyone(including myself) who thought he didn't like Cheltenham! Hope I can go to the meeting sometime in the future - the atmosphere must be fabulous.

I was very pleased for Long Run and his amateur jockey - a wonderful achievement, but I must admit shedding a tear for the valiant Denman (and Kauto Star of course).

Yes, just watched the Gold Cup - what an exciting finish, and what a welcome back for the placed horses .

Looks like we're in for a real race of the champions at today's Gold Cup.

Yes, very sad, it's what I hate about jump racing

I think Helen's view is representative of many. I enjoyed my snapshot of Cheltenham and am especially looking forward to the camel racing at Perth which I understand is an extremely relaxed and chaotic affair

xsara: how exciting to (nearly) have a runner at Cheltenham! What's the horse's name and what race?

That's exactly how I feel Carol. My OH loves it and takes the week off to watch it all on telly. We both cheered on Big Bucks this afternoon - what a horse!

ZARENA - ME TOO!

JAMIE - that is supposed to be a really good day out!
jamie Posted - 16 Mar 2011 : 7:31:37 PM
I only caught the first two races today - and how good were they! I had forgotten how exciting it all can be Anyway have no chance of ever getting to Cheltenham so today booked tickets to take OH and the kids to Perth Racecourse Charity day later in the summer

Channel 4 Racing and the Morning Line......my favourite programmes of all time! I'm having a couch potato week ....apart from mucking out of course!

I am supposed to be working from home today and have just switched on.. tut tut... will burst into action shortly..
kirst Posted - 15 Mar 2011 : 10:10:40 PM
Enjoyed it today and picked a winner in Hurricane Fly! I love it when they do a special piece on certain trainers/horses/yards it's always really interesting.
Must go and study form for tomorrow!
xsara Posted - 15 Mar 2011 : 8:02:46 PM
I will be watching it we did have a runner entered for friday but as he was down for balloting we have decided he is not going as it is a long journey to go and would need to go a couple of days before and as we won't know whether he gets in till the day before it wouldn't be fair on the horse. But we will be in and out during the day watching the races, so hopefully not miss too much

I'm a BIG fan - sadly no chance of watching much live this year - no tv or internet connection in our new unit where I teach. In the past I used to have it on the tv and one memorable year I had a class of mainly Asian children cheering for Desert Orchid when he won the Gold Cup!!!

Absolutely love it. Just saw Ruby steal the Supreme Novices before I had to come back to work - no signs of rustiness for having been off for 4 mths. Also love Francome - he tells it as it is!

I'll be going Friday! My first time being there and not working it, so just a touch excited!
arabesque Posted - 15 Mar 2011 : 2:42:23 PM
I'm a Cheltenham widow this week - he's commandeered the remote and the sofa! By the end of each day he'll be exhausted after riding every race, I'll have to put him in a darkened room to recover from the excitement, but not before he's done the yard duties with me !
kirst Posted - 15 Mar 2011 : 2:06:03 PM
Hoping great endeavour can score in the 2.40... Yes, me too I could listen to the greatest jockey all day x
