Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 6:06:11 PM Hi all,
I hav just received my horse renewal insurance from NFU. And lucky for me I have a bonus of £75 taken off my premium this year, but my premium has increased!!
On the breakdown Im paying Nearly £80 for personal liability and wondered if this was covered anyway by being a member of the AHS? If it is i would scrap it with NFU.
Thanks

Posted - 25 Feb 2011 : 08:15:52 AM Second the BHS insurance, covers ANY HORSE owned, ridden or handled by the insured. Think also covers anyone else handling your horse/s. If you have more than one horse is excellent deal. AHS used to cover only their events, but not been a member for years now so may have changed - although knowing AHS very much doubt it !!! |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 10:32:21 PM Just look at BHS the membership is £59 which say's
Personal Liability Insurance up to £10 million for all the horses you own, look after and ride, regardless of age.
There is a 11 page doc for the Public insurance and i am heading to bed i hope thats some help |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 9:58:56 PM Not sure about personal liability.
I think the AHS insurance is limited to shows/showgrounds, though not sure. It used to be full public liabiltiy - I used it once with huge success and was very grateful.
They say the BHS membership which is about £55 gives you public liabiltiy insurance which is a good deal! Personal may be something you have to do yourself.

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 8:24:55 PM Talk to AHS asap. I know their insurance for membership is with NFU but ashamed to say not read the info. Hope you get sorted - let us all know the outcome, please.
