Posted - 11 Feb 2011 : 9:37:14 PM Fab news all round for George, Nebraska and her previous owners. She is stunning and is going to give those veterans a run for their money. I think I will leave Fayre at home if that is going to be standard of competition.
I hope you have many happy years with her and look forward to seeing her strutting her stuff at the shows. Debs x

fantastic news! she is a stunning mare, wishing you many years of happiness, nice for the prev owners that they can pop down and see her!
Don't forget that were also 2 other mares available, also in the carmarthen area
Woahh! no more room at the inn, lol. We thought long and hard before going to see her and we definitely have enough now I do hope somebody will love them
If you read my earlier post you will see that i was told about these mares & i was told that they had both been found homes. |

Posted - 10 Feb 2011 : 9:37:33 PM George how wonderful that you have given Nebraska a lovely home for life !
I don't open these threads often as it's just so upsetting and I often say things I shouldn't but how refreshing !
Pictures for definite please and good luck to the other two ladies looking for homes .

Posted - 10 Feb 2011 : 7:36:45 PM I was rather worried about these mares too and eventually found them advertised on a site called PRELOVED.I just googled Arab mares free in Carmarthen area . Now I have lived in this area all my life and believe me know anyone there is to know who is in the slightest bit araby! but I have not heard of the person advertising these 2 mares. One is 18 and the other either 20 0r 22 years. It says Ammanford area which is a small village so possibly she is advertising for someone else to avoid any possible detrimental comments! Nevertheless, these mares need a home unfortunately,we are using a friends yard as well now as I don't seem to be able to say no very often and we have more horses than stables at the moment. |

Posted - 10 Feb 2011 : 5:32:27 PM Sorry for being a dimwit: but where are these mares being advertised? My extremely experienced and very good horsewoman friend would very much like to give a home to a kind arab mare: getting on in years is fine, but would be lightly ridden (as in pleasant potters about fields and woods) by her and her children (not all at once!); and would be a companion to delightful but lonely mare. Thanks... |

Posted - 31 Jan 2011 : 9:24:30 PM Am really pleased she has gone to somebody who is going to take her out a bit in her twilight years, I was reminded at the weekend that we gave our gelding away, to be sure he went to a good home and somewhere where he will be loved by somebody with a bit more energy and devotion than we could commit to at the time. We are also very lucky as he is still on the same yard as us, so we see him a lot.
It is very hard to part with any horse, especially one like Nebraska.
I need somebody to take me out in my twilight years? |

Posted - 31 Jan 2011 : 7:47:30 PM Well! where do we start..we have just become the very proud and happy owners of Nebraska! We are very honoured to be allowed to bring this beautiful lady into our lives, she is very sweet and almost regal in her attitude. She is absolutely gorgeous, and we fell head over heels as soon as we met her, we are very grateful to Roy and Sue for their hospitality and for letting us bring her home where she will stay forever. Their horses are obviously adored, they are relaxed and happy and have lovely temperaments and I hope we have made new human friends too We plan to let Nebraska teach us a thing or two in showing and you will definitely be seeing her in the veteran classes this year, we just hope we can do her justice. Again we just want to say thank you for letting her come home with us |

Posted - 31 Jan 2011 : 1:13:44 PM I have been giving an arab by a good friend before they knew ho much i loved her and she had a home for life was always well cared for till the end which broke my heart in more pieces than you would know , i also had another old mare bought for peanuts she had 3 wonderful years with me she was stunning and i would of shown her if it was not for a slight un soundness so its not how much you sell for that guarantees a good home its what you can offer and love is the best thing going , good job she is not near me or else i would be tempted oldies have so much to give |
