Posted - 24 Jun 2010 : 09:49:52 AM ...... your plans for the coming weekend?
The weather is meant to be fantastic..!!
I am planning another trip to see my girly.
I have a lot of trailer training to do with her… so this weekend is all about education. I am also going to play with a few of Liz’s other horses, she has 2, 4 year old mares, a 3 year old colt and a yearling filly that I will be doing stuff with, trailer training, walking out etc. so I soooooo excited about this weekend. I’ll go out on a little ride on Mila too…. this will be our first hack so this I also very exciting. However, we will be sticking to walk…. As she is on holiday at the minute, I haven’t had the time to do any formal schooling, so walk is all we know at the moment.
Mila is coming home in 4 months and 6 days…..woohoo…!!

Posted - 24 Jun 2010 : 3:23:21 PM Lol no it was a bone fide countryside Deer... I literally live on the border - turn left out of yard onto country lane, single track, hedgerows, fields as far as the eye can see (but then crazy local bus lol) or right into Suburbia... she must have taken a wrong turn, bless her... I hope she got back to the field ok!
I think the Deer must graze with the horses at our place (always see them bounding over the fences) as both my boys LOVE them and want to go with them
Jenna - there is nothing worse than a broken finger! Hope it gets better soon!!!
And Milotkha - I was only joking (although hacking in company is preferable)... I love going out on my own and Shesky is always better behaved (most of the time) on his own...
Have a fun and SAFE weekend everyone xxx |

Posted - 24 Jun 2010 : 3:06:20 PM Very funny and a bit surreal re the deer Pasha. I didnt know there were urban deer, plenty of urban foxes. Cars are so dangerous, I try to avoid the roads as much as poss but I know not everyone can.
I pretty much always hack on my own. I think sometimes horse is more likely to listen to rider than the other horse or perhaps thats just Spider.
Dont be scared off hacking Milotkha, I am always convinced that accidents are all 'freak' !
Jenna - ouch!
No dog owner didnt apologise, but then she was under attack from the other people on the beach by that stage. I do remember telling her at one point that if the dog actually drew blood I would sue, which was a fairly useless thing to say. Actually it should have been wearing a muzzle and on a lead. It was one of those Italian greyhounds - pretty but a bit daft looking. |

Posted - 24 Jun 2010 : 2:42:01 PM Having to somewhat tone down horsey activities as I've broken a bloomin finger.
I am going to see a friend who I don't see very often as she lives a couple of hours away so that'll be nice anyway. |

Posted - 24 Jun 2010 : 1:57:27 PM I hope Spider hasnt been scared for life.... stupid dog owners..!!!! and Pasha... ooh my..!! I think I might take a rain check on the hack then... unless I can drag Liz along with me |

Bloomin heck Julia I hope you and Spider are both ok? Did the owner apologise? Did you get his details to complain to the police?
Not the same at all, but after nearly getting squished by the local bus the other weekend (yes I did complain to bus co) and then taking out someones wing mirror and sitting on their bonnet, I decided our normal hack (country lane for 5 mins then all off-road) would be best left for a bit and so last Sunday I went around the roads (all quiet side roads - it is suburbia apparently)... about 1/3 of the way around a Deer comes galloping down the road towards us - Shesky (trying to protect me, obviously) decides to go with said Deer as whatever he is running from must be bad! Que huge disagreement, people coming out of their house and a very lively ride home!
Moral of the story - don't hack on your own! I won't be from now on! Too bloomin dangerous |
