Posted - 13 Jun 2010 : 9:17:52 PM I echo what Minhe says. I used to make these halters and the beaded ones are very easy to put a backing on. Just make sure that the person doing it puts any knots on the top side and hides them behind the beads. If knots in the sewing are done of the back on the noseband then it will be just as painful as having no backing on at all. It is an easy task for any halter maker to do and shouldn't cost more than ten pounds or so.

Posted - 13 Jun 2010 : 7:09:45 PM It isn't just a matter of rules - it's consideration for your horse. A horse is just as tender over the nose as you are, so if you imagine what it would feel like if someone yanked some marbles against *your* nose, you will understand why having a backing on the noseband is so important
