Posted - 09 Mar 2010 : 08:43:17 AM Hi all, not been on for a long while but look daily as still love the site. I know how caring you all are and have seen this ad on Horsehunter ( under £1000) section. It is a very old arab mare for £160 with tack and rugs and to be gone by today!
Dont know if anyone wanted a companion but I have seen all of you rally round before but felt the need to point the ad out. I know it might not be poss to help but you never know. |

Posted - 28 Apr 2010 : 09:51:37 AM So heartwarming to see this elderly Lady....whose future may have been the abattoir....now looking so good and once again enjoying life in the care and security of a loving home.
What a wonderful person you are for all your time and effort in securing a forever home for this lovely matron. Long may she live and continue to enjoy your TLC

Posted - 19 Mar 2010 : 3:15:47 PM No freezemark under the mane!! Had the dentist today, she didn't like that idea very much, a very wise old girl, wasn't having that gag in, the dentist did manage to have a good feel though and she said there was nothing too horrendous in there so ok to let her get some weight on and a bit more strength before having her sedated to do them properly!! She manages her food fine, isn't dropping any and having no problems with the haylage so didn't suspect anything too bad going on in there. She loves her food and is now enjoying a groom, she seems to be trusting me much more and is happy now for me to touch her face (which was a definate no go area) so all going well |

Posted - 18 Mar 2010 : 10:12:18 AM Fantastic job rescuing this girlie, she looked very smug in the last pic!! I'm sure you would have mentioned it and I have been speed reading this to see what happened, but I don't suppose she has a scabby looking freezemark under the mane? It's just my old Arab mare is the same age and I was trying to trace her for 2 years but drew blanks thinking she must be dead. Her papers never got passed on as woman I sold her to still has them so she might not have had a passport. The freezemark said A8E8 but you couldnt read it that well, just looked like bald bits!! Sorry if I've misread anything! |

Posted - 17 Mar 2010 : 11:26:37 AM yes delyth there are certain perks like being able to claim tax aid if some one donates you can claim tax/gift aid but there are many things against too theres a lot of paper work and believe me there is enough even without being registered you can be voted off your own rescue too ! if you have a commitee that suddenly decides they want to go down different routes then they can vote you out and after spending years and lots of my own money not something i want to think about for me personaly i dont want to become to big that i lose the hands on and personal touch to the rescue but more funds could mean a few more helped
