Posted - 13 Aug 2009 : 10:32:35 PM Hi Judith, yes was from Builth but now living in Llanelli, she had 3 foals with me, the two in the photos are by Champagne Charlie an appaloosa. I was gutted to find they had sold her on as i would have liked to have bought her as she was such a nice pony to have around, the photo of the ridden mare "Dusty" aka Pink Rosie, had 3 foals with me, two appaloosas and a filly by Roy Thomas' stallion Nazir. She was then broken in and is now having a life of luxury in Essex. However the little bugger only went and had a filly foal 2 months after they purchased her!! That is coming to me in September so will be continuing the line!! Sam |

Hi Pauline
Ibn Rameed belongs to a friends partner - farmer in the wild hills above Rhayder in Mid Wales - he bought him as a youngster & has just used him as his shepherding horse & apparently hes amazing at his job - Rob says hes the best horse hes ever owned/ridden out on the hills! The stallion is kept purely as his riding horse & has never covered a mare.
Charmina might be a mare I saw - if its her - she had had a horrific injury as a youngster & was scared but recovered - sold to a lady in the Midlands.....but this might be another mare altogether! Rowan my boy was not reg by the Morgans - they didn't bother as he was the last pure bred Arab they bred & they thought he wasn't going to be very good!!!! lol so I imagine there might be others that were not registered??

Posted - 11 Aug 2009 : 7:15:13 PM Hi Debs
The Charlie saga!!! lol He was taken to the hears of so many on here & has a vast fan club:) it was so traumatic loosing Tessa - but the love & kindness of the wonderful AL folk got us through!!!! Yes - darling Cuckoo certainly did do the boy proud - she is one amazing little mare & how we would loved to have kept her but her owners wanted her back.

Posted - 10 Aug 2009 : 6:35:49 PM Ah - replying rather later than I said! Sam - two lovely horses - think they have taken after their sire rather than Tessa Who was the sire? When did you have Tessa - I knew the Morgans had lent her out as a brood mare - before I bought her (along with Rameed) they said she had been to someone in South Wales & had bred a coloured foal.....or was that you? But since Cammarch is your log in name - are you Builth area - Llangamarch maybe?
I would love to know how many foals dear Tessa had - there are four on allbreed: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/rumbolds+contessa - JAS Trysor (Charlie) & Rowan Razy are mine....it would be great to find out who owns the other two & also which of her offspring are registered with the AHS - help anyone?
We still miss Tessa so much - she was a real sweetie & no trouble at all We are so lucky to have Charlie - I need to do some up to date photos - took some the other day - but all I got was his or Ruby's bums as they were indulging in a big grooming session

Posted - 01 Aug 2009 : 12:58:34 AM Hi there Judith, am new on the forum and this is my first post, really sad to hear about the loss of Tessa, i had her for 3 years and she was a lovely mare to have around, she bred me 2 really nice Appaloosa fillies. I have just sold the first one now who is now 9 years old, both had her temperament. Sam |
