Posted - 13 Aug 2009 : 12:01:04 AM Thanks Lin...we really enjoyed the day..thought the result was great.
Also to add that the Cotswold & Heart of England Team won the Inter regional competition with the highest points, they had a team of 15 horses and riders and all got through the vetting and finished..to Win the only photo I have of more than a couple of members of the team..and leaving you Olwens report & the results. Re: Inter-Regionals at Barbury Castle Reply #2 - Yesterday at 2:27pm I've put this message also in Rides, but just in case you miss it there, here it is again. Just want to say a big thank you and really well done to all members (riders and crews) of the Heart of England/Cotswold team. For all 15 team members to be successfully through the vetting was absolutely brilliant. The winning team was: Laura Graham on Red (80kms ER) Camilla Mascall on Goldcrest Whitsun Dancer (80kms ER) Paula Postlewaite on Cwtycadno Keltic Star (80kms ER) Sally Farrall on Oxnead Wheatear (65kms CR) Claire Blizzard on Just Charlie (65kms CR) Helen Barrett on Paris LA (50kms CR) Janet Fentiman on Spola Fromold Hills (50kms CR) Alison Hinchcliffe on Philesia (50kms CR) Carole Levitt on Belmont Gold (50kms CR) Barbara Elwell on Murtada (40kms) Marian Moxon on Abbie II (40kms) Khalid Al-Khayat on Barnshill Warrior (40kms Novice) Cari Ann Dark on Kates Mate (40 kms Novice) Penny Feeney on Silvretta Grand Marnier (40kms Novice) Tina Griffiths on Shareef (40kms Novice) So the combined Cotswold/Heart of England team gets its name on the silver platter for the first time ever! Commiserations to those who were on the initial team list but whose horses had problems in the days and hours running up to the ride (Sue Buckley, Natasha Dedicoat, Marion Drew, Julie Neale, Julie Payne) and Josh Oakes who was unwell and very many thanks to those riders who agreed to join the team at the last minute. Thank you also to Jill Kent and Linda Kidd for a really wonderful ride in an absolutely super venue. Those great black troughs of water were a god send because who could have expected the weather to be so glorious. Olwen Law (Heart of England) and Chris Hicks (Cotswolds)
Gemma, Tells us that Khalid riding Barnshill Warrier, a new member of egb and riding Barns for the local team (Heart of England) doing his first ever 40km(25mile)ride on Saturday..finishing with a Grade 1, his first ever competitive ride and his first Grade 1. Well Done, what a result..
Malcolm & Khan heading home at the end of an excellent day and the start of a Great weekend.. Sue

Posted - 10 Aug 2009 : 2:11:38 PM Congratulations Lin and team Hi Lin Fantastic result for CS Khan, We had a chat about racing at one of the crew points. We were waiting for Barnshill Warrior and Serabitibi. Barney gained a grade 1 in his first 40km nov and Rabit got a grade 4 over 64km open. We were so pleased with her she was such a good girl and she has previously only managed a completion due to getting a bit excited when being vetted!!
Wolverhampton was a super day although I didn't see much racing as we didn't have stables, so lots of walking!!
Once again congratulations and well done to everyone at Barbary and Wolverhampton, and Heart of England and Cotswold team.

Cate has added the Welsh & Cotswold Team..not sure if you can get to see it...but Mary Korn is down to ride, so she must have recovered from her ordeal at Ludlow... wished I new who was in the other teans and what colours they are wearing... Hope to be back with a few snaps after saturday... Wish our crew horse Luck........Thanks Sue
