Today, I started the baking for our picnic while at the above Barbary Castle EGB and for ARO racing at Wolvo the following day. This is the cake were are eating for tea today.
It'll be bringing Lemon Cream(same as pic)or Chocolate Black cherry & cream.

Cake looks lovely and we will be camping at Barbury as doing both days. Unfortunately diet does not allow for such things 
However if you see us, I'm rider 125 on the Saturday with a Nissan Navara that has yacht logos all over it. |

Sue's cakes are marvellous especially when you need a bit of topping up at the last VG or the finish. Have tried the lemon and the choccy... yummy I can't wait for next week end  I'm soooooo lucky to have Sue and Cliff crewing for me as not only are they a great Crew but I get more cake that way

Sorry we'll m,iss you..There is a real Cake stand there , the lady's from the local church, so please give there a good testing..usually very good...will be checking it out myself...I'm into cake & recipies..
Lin123, Keep me posted....my email is now working...will bring enough cake for the racing lot..let me know if you want one to take home..for yourself. I think Mel does (she's missed out lately) or shall we see you on Sunday..did the stables come through for Sunday... bu--er, that means I'll have to do another bake for Sunday...tooo. no candles...

Leaving you the link to the Barbary castle site, from here you can have a nose at who's entered. Cate has added the Welsh & Cotswold Team..not sure if you can get to see it...but Mary Korn is down to ride, so she must have recovered from her ordeal at Ludlow...
wished I new who was in the other teans and what colours they are wearing... Hope to be back with a few snaps after saturday...

| Hi Sue, Heart of England/Cotswold usually wear burgundy, I will be picking up our shirts on the morning of the ride before the ride briefing at 7.30 but should think it is the same colour this year. |

Hi Camilla, Thanks for the message, Olwen has confirmed same colour as last year.. so that OK...
All Horse just put a bit in about Mortimer Forest Ride and a few of my snaps..including you and Donna.
I'll try to remember to bring a copy with me... and I'd like to speak to Gary..

An absolutely fabulous Winning Weekend. At Wolverhampton ARO racing today, when Linda's Debrett Won the Jebel Ali Stakes over 2 miles and in wonderfull form and took away the prize money. cleaver boy Debrett. Debrett with Linda in the Winners enclosure @ Wolvo on Sunday.. What a weekend you've had Linda...Wow.
Yesterday(Saturday), we all had a terrific day crewing Linda's CS Khan at Barbary Castle EGB ride while he was doing the 100kER(60 mile) endurance race ride(his first at this distance) with Mel up and Sam in charge, after celebrating him winning...We were like a bunch of cheshire cats with grins from ear to ear..and we celebrated by eating all the cake, cake and more cake up. Great Weekend Linda...thanks for your kind comments and we , all enjoyed every moment. Thank You.

 Mel, CS Khan & Linda at Barbary Castle, Saturday 8th Aug. Winner of the Young Horse 100km(60miles)ER. @ 15.67kmph.(they did over 20kmph on the first loop of 40km(25miles)...came home and finished on a 46bpm. What a star...
 Kirsty & Connie 2ns in the 80ER. Kirsty we all think your amazing..Well Done and hope you had a good trip home....

Hi Lin
Fantastic result for CS Khan, We had a chat about racing at one of the crew points.We were waiting for Barnshill Warrior and Serabitibi.
Barney gained a grade 1 in his first 40km nov and Rabit got a grade 4 over 64km open. We were so pleased with her she was such a good girl and she has previously only managed a completion due to getting a bit excited when being vetted!!
Wolverhampton was a super day although I didn't see much racing as we didn't have stables, so lots of walking!!
Once again congratulations and well done to everyone at Barbary and Wolverhampton, and Heart of England and Cotswold team.

Well done Lin and Mel and not forgetting Khan,what a star he was, I think he's taking to these 60 mile rides... and not forgetting Karl & Barns (Barnshill Warrier) getting his very first Grade 1 under EGB rules... and for the Team..them the Team Winning.. Thanks Lin...we really enjoyed the day..thought the result was great.
Also to add that the Cotswold & Heart of England Team won the Inter regional competition with the highest points, they had a team of 15 horses and riders and all got through the vetting and finished..to Win the only photo I have of more than a couple of members of the team..and leaving you Olwens report & the results.

Thank you also to Jill Kent and Linda Kidd for a really wonderful ride in an absolutely super venue. Those great black troughs of water were a god send because who could have expected the weather to be so glorious.

Gemma, Tells us that Khalid riding Barnshill Warrier, a new member of egb and riding Barns for the local team (Heart of England) doing his first ever 40km(25mile)ride on Saturday..finishing with a Grade 1, his first ever competitive ride and his first Grade 1.
