Posted - 25 Jan 2011 : 9:34:36 PM Me again! Is it essential for long boots to be black in ridden classes, I have some lovely De Niro boots which were a recent present however they are a very rich tan colour and would stand out a mile...is this not the "done thing"?? |

Posted - 28 Jan 2011 : 7:15:07 PM As much as I love brown boots I would go for black - the last thing you want to do is stand out for the wrong reason!! |

Posted - 28 Jan 2011 : 1:38:19 PM I think Lynne Russell probably gets away with it because of who she is, correct dress attire always states black boots, unless for children showing in jodhpur boots then its brown or ox blood.
I would always wear black boots, it does look more aesthetically pleasing.
Are your boots like the ones Carl Hester wears on 'Carl Hester at Home' on H&C TV |

Posted - 28 Jan 2011 : 12:52:03 PM I would want to see Black boots - that is correct showring dress. However whilst it isnt technically correct if you had a hacking jacket on then you might get away with it. If it was a local show or unaffiliated then I wouldnt worry to much adn judges may be more forgiving; but affiliated you really want to present the correct look/aesthetics it is important adn part of showing. |

Posted - 27 Jan 2011 : 8:17:27 PM I think Black is correct but I've seen Lyn Russell wear brown, sorry not much help as she doesn't ride Arabs - why not go for it and set a new trend? |
