Posted - 10 Aug 2011 : 2:27:31 PM Hi all, Sue OES stands for Origine Etranger Selle - basically foreign saddle horse, the 01' filly is called Primo she's chestnut the other 2 are Bay. 2 have competed in Endurance, 1 in Show Jumping as well, the other is noted as a broodmare. I know Dedja Des Forges has several very good endurance horses out there competing now, although cannot find a photo of him! Meraut85, have you spoken to the Arab Horse Society to see if they have any further pedigree details for Paris Pride? |

Posted - 26 May 2011 : 12:48:27 AM Added both your mare's other two by ZACAN EL BARAKA, ie: PAZAREE & PANAZ, to all breeds. the other filly born in 2001, I will add, but I need to find her name.. Anyone know the 2001 filly's name...(Ferer des Loup/Paris Pride.).
Glad you have more info now. Nice to know she was at Conkwell and so was Dedja. Zacan El Baraka has at least one other offspring in UEA, I think.
Good news Lin is pretty sure that Paul does have a pic of Dadja..
A queri..the NED said Paris was Chestnut, although Lyzd said she was Palomino. also I thin someone said she was by an Arab, out of a French bred horse. Sounds like she was bred as an endurance prospect your youngster. Sue.
PS. change the title of your posting to the sire name & pic wanted. make it easier for Sundance to spot.

I used to work at Conkwell Grange Stud when Dedja stood - I am searching for him if anybody knows where he is now? I was lucky enough to work with the likes of Wiking, Khaddouj, too many to list!
Edited to say, I've been racking my brains about your dam, because I worked at the stud at the right time and I believe I remember "Paris" details are fuzzy because being a groom, I remember their stable names as oppose to full names, so I could be entirely wrong. The Paris I remember was a small mare, about 15.2hh and a palomino with a really sweet temperament. She was definitely not an Arab because I had the TB/ Anglo mares in my block, I can even remember which stable! 2nd in from the left on the front of the top block... A bit sad really... :)
He was an amazing stallion to work with, much personality! PM me if you would like to know more! ;) |

Posted - 15 May 2011 : 8:30:25 PM So it looks like Melinda's Paris Pride - (2002) mare is too young to be the dam of your Par de Deux. I found another thoroughbred mare, same name but this one seems to be too young too. Leaving the link just for info. http://www.pedigreequery.com/par+de+deux
It crossed my mind that Mrs Harrison did keep quite a lot of TB horses for the racing. Just maybe she was one of those. Paul Kearnes was the trainer there.
Now wondering if the stallion was with Conkerwell in 1997, when the mare was covered..born in April almost confirms a UK birth.
SOUNDS LIKE KESTEL's Mare.....Above..
Keep at it. Rozy |

Posted - 15 May 2011 : 4:14:47 PM Hi Everyone,
Yes Dedja des Forge, was indeed standing at Conkwell Grange stud for a number of years. They always had a lot of TB mare's there which they covered with the Arab stallions to produce a slighly larger horse suitable for endurance so I would guess your mare would have been born there which would fit with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum being down as the breeder. I know somewhere I have Dedja's stud card, will have a search.

Posted - 12 May 2011 : 10:29:24 AM Found two horses by the same stallion and entered for the Ascot Arab sale in 2003, as from Conkerwell Stud. The property of Mrs Harrington. Conkerwell did have Dedja Des Forges around that time. A change in circumstances and Mrs harrington stopped dealing with Arabs, so the Arabs went. Rozy. |

Posted - 11 May 2011 : 12:54:13 AM Hi Lin, The hunch was correct, In 2004 he stood with Conkerwell & Liz Harrington leaving the link.. two references to him standing there..scroll down.. http://www.arabianlines.com/racing/Paul_Simmons/Review2005.htm
Any idea when he won at Nottingham, which year. In 2005 We (I) was at Ascot when he was sold..£1100 ?? Ron or Derek.. Ron was 6'tall & about 60. listed as property of Darley Stud. from Kelanne.
His brother was at stud too- Djari des Forges...
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/zacan+el+baraka Zacan el Baraka. Checkout the progeny of Zacan el Baraka...lots in French..!!
Cheers Sue..
Quite a list in the Sunday ride at G.H. |

Posted - 11 May 2011 : 12:20:04 AM I'm really kicking myself now.....I had reason to speak with Liz Harrington today on another matter and this subject went right out of my mind I can confirm though that Liz had Dedja Des Forges standing at stud at Conkwell along with other stallions for the Sheikh and his brothers (Khairouan and The Wiking to name a couple as I have horses by them and Liz is the registered breeder). No use trying to contact Conkwell as that ceased and became Larkinglass and then that ceased when Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum ceased his Arabian Racing breeding programme in the UK a few years ago and the stallions standing with Liz either went to Ascot Sales or were moved abroad. I will write to Liz and ask her if she can shed any light on Paris Pride but she's helping me out with a delicate situation at the moment and I don't want to put her under any pressure. I'm wondering if Par de Deux was part of the Sheikhs Endurance and not Racing breeding programme, a sport of which he/his horses still compete at very successfully.

Posted - 10 May 2011 : 2:54:17 PM Is it a GB passport and if yes what do the Arab Horse Society say, they keep the records.. even if she is Part Bred.. they may /will have the notes.
Fair Deed Dash( born 2000) was the Property of Darley Stud management co.Ltd' From Kelanne Stud ( Bill Smith)
There very well could be pics of him from the past, I did have a quick look at the Darley site, Shk Mohm has a list of farms as long as your arm in Norfolk, if you have a good google you'll find them..
I have one of the old Race Mags for 2002, I'll look there, but you could do with going back to the 1997 ish, when he was covering.
ANY ONE GOT THE OLDER Race Reviews ???????
I'd guess at Mrs Harrington - them Conkerwell, might be worth a try. and....Water Farm, they had at least one of the shk's stallions. Dr. ???? they went to France more recently.
B. Smith might know if you go ARO racing..he's usually about.
The shk will be over here now or very soon, might be worth chatting to James or some of the other staff. or ex.staff..
Do you know which stables she was with in UAE ????.
I remember someone making enquiries abou this Paris mare before..
Do you think she might have been born in France..???spose be good to find out where the horse was stood when she was covered..or A1..
Lin is going to ask..Carol ( French Lut..) when she see's her at the races(ARO) soon..
You might have to find(google0 some of the shk's older stud references..
Or get Paul to come on here and tell us what he knows..

Posted - 10 May 2011 : 08:02:51 AM Many Thanks for everyones help looking into this i really appreciate it!!! I believe my mare was born over here then shipped out to Dubai when she was younger, she came back into the country in August 2006 when i bought her. I believe she was definitely bred by Sheikh M. Bin Rashid al Maktoum. as he is down as the only owner on her passport Hi Rozy Rider- I know its a long shot but were there any photos of him anywhere, or is there any old websites i could check to see if i can locate a pic of him? I really am stumped by her mum,i will check through her passport again tonight to see if any more clues e.g. if she was a gb mare, usa etc

Did DDF leave the country after sold.. got a feeling he went to UAE???.
I'll try to add all his offsprings to All Breeds, that might be helpful.

Posted - 07 May 2011 : 11:36:37 PM Hi Sue......I shall hopefuly see Carol next weekend racing at Taunton so I'll ask her and Meraut85 hopefully Sundance will be there too. I've also remembered another that Carol had.....Fair Deed Dash (Dedja Des Forges x TFA Ashajan) purchased from Ascot sales in 2004 who, I think, won 3 races. It's looking like Dedja Des Forges was a favoured racing stallion at the time. I see there is a registration number for FDD on EGB but no entries.

Edited to add that Dedja Des Forges was sold for £1100 to Derek Christopher Bloodstock in 2005. |

Posted - 06 May 2011 : 9:47:11 PM Hi, there is a Paris Pride on the French SIRE website (French database for horses) it gives no details of her breeding just Foreign Saddle Horse (OES), although she has 3 offspring registered, I am not registered for that service, so did another Internet check & found the details of her foals, then cross checked them ;
99' filly, Pazaree by Zacan el Baraka 00' colt, Panaz by Zacan el Baraka 01' filly, by Frere des Loups
All originally registered with the AHS UK as partbreds. Also managed to find that the breeder for all 3 is Sheikh M. Bin Rashid al Maktoum. Also found that Paris Pride is noted as by an Arab out of a Foreign Saddle Horse (OES) but no names given.
If you telephone the AHS UK they should be able to tell you Paris Prides breeding, if they have it.
Hope this helps!

Posted - 06 May 2011 : 9:05:52 PM Yes Sue, Ne Nada is Alex's horse, Liz Harrington raced him for a season when Kizhi was a 3yo. I seem to recall (could be way off the mark though) that Liz had Deja Des Forges standing/available at Conkwell/Larkinglass (Avon Thoroughbreds was the Thoroughbred part of the breeding programme) She had Sucha on breeding loan and I think she had maybe 2 foals by him as well as my 3 by Khairouan and The Wiking and of course Ne Nada was bred there too. Liz had quite a few of the Sheiks stallions available at the time. For info Charming started an Endurance career last year.

There is an english Paris pride, thoroughbred mare born 2001 by Paris House ex Pride of Whalley but she is to young too. |
