Posted - 02 Feb 2011 : 2:23:23 PM HI THANKS FOR THAT ANY INFO,YEAH SHE IS STARTING TO CHANGE COLOUR NOW GOING FROM A ORANGEY TYPE COLOUR TO A DARK CHOCLATEY BAY,HER NECK IS GOING VERY DARK,I THINK SHE WILL BE A COLOUR LIKE SUMAYYAH,THINK SHE WILL HAVE A CRACKING HEAD,SHE WAS RESCUED YOU COULD SAY,DUE TO THE OVER BREEDING OF HORSES IN GENERAL HERE I DIDNT WANT HER TO END UP BEING PUTDOWN SO LIKE A MAD WOMAN I GOT MY DAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO DUBLIN 280MILES WITHOUT SEEING HER ONLY A PHOTO AND I HAD ALREADY DECIDED THAT I WASNT LEAVING HER THERE,WHATEVER! SHE HAD RAINSCALED LIKE I HAVE NEVER SEEN ALL THE TIME IVE KEPT HORSES ANYWAY MINE HAVE NEVER HAD IT,SHE HAD LITTLE MUSCLE MASS LEFT AND 0 WEIGHT BUT SHE IS BOUNCING BACK AND ILL GET A BUZZ WHEN I WATCH HER TAIL GO UP IN THAT FIELD ALMOST SAYING UPURS PARDON THE PUN BUT ANY PICS OF HIM AS A FOAL I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM JUST TO SEE IF SHE IS ANYTHING LIKE HIM,THANKS AGAIN JO.AS SOON AS SHE LOOKS MORE LIKE SHE SHOULD AND THE SUN COMES OUT HAHA I WILL UPDATE HER PIC.

Posted - 01 Feb 2011 : 5:52:05 PM Hi, I know nothing about your filly's dam, but I travelled Nahin to the Northern Group show as a foal at foot with his dam "Sam". They were both lovely bays, very similar in colour to your girl.

Posted - 25 Jan 2011 : 01:29:14 AM sorry ment to reply sooner, got side tracked. yep she is doing great, putting on weight etc, rainscald clearing up nicely, she is now starting to bond with me i think, she"s alot happier with being strocked over the door on her face then she was,she would back away blowing which i thought was quite sad,but now she seems to come into the hand and look forward to her rub.she did jump out of the field into my welsh cob geldings, not a good idea, but managed to get her out unscathed (lucky) wont be letting that happen again, gave me a hart attack nearly died, but she is ok,is it something that they do just take a fancy and jump out? well fences to go higher antway, thanks jo.

Oh, Hiya I just saw your message on another forum as well, and popped on here to do a search for Nahin, as I see he won the Bath and West show for his previous owners, the Potts.. Did you look on Allbreedpedigree? There's a head shot of him there, and his pedigree

Hope she continues to improve.. Good luck with her, and keep us posted as to how she's doing.
Where abouts are you? Best wishes Julia

Posted - 24 Jan 2011 : 7:34:12 PM Just give her plenty of quiet handling, feet picking up, grooming and leading etc. and she will reward you I am sure. I would think she will remain bay now. Arabs are different, they are very clever and very special, and have very long memories, once you have created a relationship with one, other horses are just not the same (Although I dearly love my welsh x tb pony).

Posted - 11 Jan 2011 : 10:38:05 PM Not being registered is not the end of the world unless you want to breed or show at a higher than local level. Our gelding Harlequin is not registered, he is a very beautiful son of Keffan out of a Bey Shadow daughter, and has given us much joy, has done well at local showing level, done open endurance, hunted and is the love of my Mother's life (and she has owned many horses), he is now 20, I bought him as a 4 year old and he is a very special boy.
This is us competing at Windsor a couple of years ago

Posted - 08 Jan 2011 : 8:18:52 PM If anyone has the 2007/8 AHS stud directory, Nahin is mentioned there - can't open it on line
He came second at Malvern in the Junior Colts 2 years old in 2003, exhibited and bred by Mrs A W Potts. I believe she may be based in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire, as Southwind Arabians, if it is the same Mrs A W Potts
