ARABIAN PREMIER HANDICAP STAKES NEWBURY

LAMASAT LAMASAT with Jockey Willie Supple after winning the EMIRATES
ARABIAN PREMIER HANDICAP STAKES
REPORT:
LAMASAT, trained by Mrs Gill Duffield, owned by H H Sheik Hamdan
Bin R Al Maktoum and ridden by W Supple, confirmed the promise
shown when winning at LINGFIELD last season by overturning
the favourite CS AL WAHED in decisive style at NEWBURY on the
21st June 2005. The winning margin was only 2 1/2 lengths but
this could have been considerably more had Willie Supple wished
it to be, he was looking around for dangers a long way from
home, but the receipt of 16lb from the favourite was all important
in the defeat of the top class stayer, CS AL WAHED, who just
managed to hold onto second place by a head from third placed
FRIPON AL MAURY (FR). There was no disgrace in defeat for CS
AL WAHED, who had a stiff task at the weights
