REPORT:
Arsene Rupin (FR) proved himself a horse of quality with a
run away victory under Alan Munro in the Emirates International
Stakes (Group 3) at NEWBURY on JUNE 16th 2005. Trained by Miss
Georgina Ward for The Day in Toulouse Partnership,
Arsene Rupin (FR), a chestnut colt by Domane (FR) - Djelsomina
(FR), had
won on his debut over 6f last season and, although beaten in
a Group 1- over a mile - last September, he returned this year
with a Group 3 win over 7f.
Arsene Rupin has the pace to win over 7f, but has now proven,
with his facile win over one mile two furlongs, that he stays
as well. Any previous doubts about his ability to get the trip
were quickly forgotten by the manner of his front running performance
at Newbury to beat the second placed horse, Malik D'Or, by
eight lengths with the previously unraced Danseur Mondain back
in third.
Arsene Rupin is entered in next month's DERBY and on the evidence
of this impressive display it will take a good horse to lower
his colours.
