Evie and Rachelle Peel
People need answers as to what happened to horses that they bred or previously owned, you admit Evie that you have had 10 horses, that where registered in your name, returned to you, please tell people who they are and which horses didn't make it and why.

It was reported that Edgevale Against All Odds aka Pip, that I bred and sold to you was one of the eleven horses shot be the RSPCA, is this true?? and why ?? as he was registered in your name Evie, he should have been returned to you

You can not expect to come back into social media and open forum's and expect no back lash from what you have done
especial as you show no remorse, and appear only to be seeking to people to forgive and forget, I'm afraid that will NEVER happen and we will never forget or forgive unless you tell the truth. You seem to want the board wiped clean and to start again, NO....

PLEASE let us have some answers so that we can ALL draw a line under all of this
its no good burying your head in the sand it won't go away, ever, unless you do

There are many more horses who are missing, presumed dead who appear on the list of missing horses. Where are they all, presumably dead? My beautiful Tara (Sunlea Darreana) who was high percent Crabbet and a rare Ben Rabba grand daughter is one of them. When Evie spoke to me she hadn't a clue who Tara was and had no recollection of her despite the fact that we had a court case over her and, quite frankly, she didn't care. She showed no remorse whatsoever her only reason for contacting me was to stop me posting on here and "to move on".

I was firm but polite and I think she thought I was going to roll over and give up. You don't know me but I WILL NEVER GIVE UP.

I heard a rumour that Evie's name might be deleted from the WAHO trophy that TARAGUN won; sadly as she has not been convicted of anything I doubt that can happen.

Tara's daughter is in a lovely home in Sweden, luckily didn't got to the Peels, and this is being followed there as well as here. Your 15 minutes of fame that we are all supposed to have Evie? I hope it is 15 years.

Evie, you are very misguided is you think people can 'wipe the slate clean and move on'. The horses you used and abused were peoples pride and joy. How can they ever forgive and forget, it will never, ever go away. May you live in shame forever, along with the rest of your family.

This is the first time I've logged on here for a VERY long time.....but in reading these posts particularly regarding Evie Peel contacting you Barbara, I felt a strong compulsion to comment;
I would ask Evie Peel,.....would YOU be able to "forgive & wipe the slate clean" had the same crimes been committed & then escaped justice, had the victims been....... you're CHILDREN, for example ????? I say CHILDREN as I think Evie has demonstrated very clearly that she obviously had no empathy for or with those poor horses who suffered & perished in the most miserably cruel conditions. Lt's just hope & prey she has more compassion & empathy for her DAUGHTER as she grows & matures.

Many years experience owning & riding my own horses. Fell in love with Arabians at 11 years old when given a ride on "Trevallion", a 3/4 bred who was a livery where I worked as a stablehand. I have never forgotten that ride, Thank You Yvonne- should you ever read this!I now have 2 beautiful purebreds.

Great post Kim and welcome back. Hope you will continue on here and on other happier topics.

It is a sad, sorry, mess where justice has evaded those responsible but I hope fate catches up with them.

Despite not knowing for certain what happened to Tara in my heart I do know and it grieves me every time I think about it; a lot over the last few years.

The one that shocks me the most is Taragun. Any normal, decent human being would have treasured that lovely little mare who did so much for Evie, no one would ever have known of her (until now, of course) had it not been for that exceptional little mare. My heart bleeds for her breeder, she must have murder in her heart!

We had a list of missing horses on our closed group and, if I remember correctly, it went into the 30s and that didn't include any foals they bred that we have no knowledge of. Where are all those pour lost souls. RIP "lost ones", we pray your needless deaths will be avenged one day.

Actually we believe there were many more than that, possibly buried in the fields, we will never know the true extent of the horror.

Sorry to be graphic but the dead horses in the barn that their companions were tramping over were so decomposed that it was impossible to do a post mortem so they could not figure in the trial although I believe the judge saw photos of the horror in the barn.

And she wants to erase it and carry on, over my dead body!

Your only consolation Evie is I am getting on in years so you can just play the waiting game!

I've not been on here much for a while - it's been so quiet! However, I've been following the case, but hadn't realised the full extent of missing horses and find it hard to believe that Evie would even consider posting here, let alone admitting to being who she is - as for contacting Barbara..... words fail me! Do we know her surname now? I'd certainly like to, because I'm one who won't forget, or let others forget. I hope she and her family have a lifetime of being recognised for what they have done!

Arabesque, I was told she was married now but when she phoned me and said she had a daughter and needed to move on and get on with her life I said that I heard that she had a daughter and was now married. She told me she wasn't married so presumably she still bears the stigma of being a Peel although that is not her father's name; I assume it may have been Newnham as Rachelle was Newnham at the time we met. She had been with a Keith Barnes and I believe they moved from somewhere in the south up to Lancashire, I can confirm this with Diana Whirttome as Rachelle and Keith bought a colt from her. It was there she met Stephen Peel who presumably was a better catch and when I first met her she told me she was engaged to Stephen Peel. When they got married she called herself Peel and also Newnham-Peel.

Not sure of any other men along the way, this is what I know of them!

I find it very scary that she still has ten horses, how on earth are they managing to look after that many. Lets hope she see sense and finds good homes for them before they suffer from a similar fate.

joanna piana - I thought the same. Every cost, like worming, multiplied by 8 or 10 or however many! I thought she was a student? Is anyone from here in the area, who drives past wherever they are kept? You would need a great deal of land to keep them all at grass, plus pasture maintenance kit etc to get the best out of the grass to be the cheapest way of keeping them. Maybe they all have livery owners who pay for their keep? Hoping that could be the situation but .............

Just so that you know, we have received this from Evie Peel:

"The postings about me and my family are in breach of your own terms and conditions.

This is a formal request to remove any thread relating to myself, my mother, my horses or the trial.

This has gone beyond a discussion and is now inciting hatred, which it has been doing for some time.

Every single posting (including those posted by Moderators) dating from February 2014 has been handed to police and our legal team.

This request is the first stage in legal action that will be taken against both the forum and the individuals concerned.

Remove the threads and ensure no further threads on this matter are posted.

I wouldn't have expected anything else!!
Just asking the questions, would have been the decent human thing to answer them, even if it was by personal message to the individuals involved, you have no idea how devastating this has been for everyone, living with the knowledge that their precious horses suffered and died or if they are still alive and well with the Peels or someone else
2 and a half years waiting for an answer

Evie, can you tell me what is lies on here because as far as I am aware everything posted is verifiable facts.

We didn't even go into the legal battle someone had to go through to get their horses back which were on loan to your family; I know about this but as I don't have contact with the owner of the horses now I didn't want to post it without their permission.

Rui, as ever, you are a star. I have put my details (which you already have) on the other thread to make life easier for your legal team, will cost you less and you can then buy feed for the horses you now have with what you save.

Dear Evie

Really have to rain on your parade here, BUT really you should read the rules on 'Defamation' more carefully. For your information anything that has been written on here since 2014 is now OUT OF TIME for you to make a claim........likewise anything written here from June 1st 2015 to June 1st 2016 is also out of time for you to make a claim in court. Those who seek redress via the Law should at first make sure they are on a sound footing.

Wouldn't it be better to spend your money on feed for your many horses than throwing it on legal action. I will ask you once again star ascendant left my yard with Taragun end of 2005 or early 2006. We last saw him at myerscough 30th April 2006.he was never licenced as agreed in an agreement. Simple question what happened to him he has never featured in the horses seized or signed over
to the rspca. Thank you

A bad thing happened here. No one can come out of this smiling. Nevertheless the only way this can be understood is for people to acknowledge their guilt, and be sorry. For that to happen the old owners need to know which horses have been returned and in what condition, and painfully for all, including the Peels, now legal action has gone, who were the decomposing horses in the barn? how did this happen and also - what about the others? were they sold, did they have accidents did they die and when. Only when all these questions are answered will anyone get peace and this be put to bed. Rachelle you have NOTHING to lose now. you once said to me "real people help each other" and for that I was grateful. What has happened can not be changed, but if you want to move on I implore you. contact the people personally once and for all and end their heartache close the book. Please

Pax, it was impossible to get to see the horses as I am told the Peels would arrange visits and then there were excuses at the last minute why people couldn't go and no one wants to travel for 5+ plus hours and be refused access. Most of the horses involved were sold to the Peels and, as in my previous post, there were horses on loan where the owner had to take them to court to get her horses back. It is unfair to point the finger at the owners of the horses. Some of them were in conract with the Peels and were told the horses were fine and we saw Evie and Taragun out competing and Taragun looked fantastic. We were not to know that there were dead horses rotting in a barn while their starving companions tramped over them. Or indeed that a few years down the line when Evie had moved on to bigger horses Taragun would just be tossed aside. Anyone one else would have treasured here for the star she was; in fact she could have been gifted back to her breeder if they no longer wanted her, I feel sure the would have taken her; she was such a precious little mare.

As I had sold my horse to her and had a subsequent court case with her she didn't even answer the phone to me. I wanted the mare I sold to her back as she had not been paid for and I had heard a rumour all was not well but couldn't get proof. This was right back in 2007 so this has been going on for a long time. Once all this is over I will think about posting details of my court case to let people see what Rachelle is like.

You do have your answer Pax, and I just feel so sad for loaners and people who sold in good faith. They were always posting on here about how well they were doing with Taragun. Yet it was hell where these horses lived. I'm not personally involved but can only give my wholehearted support to those who are searching for answers.
