I was carrying a battery back to the energiser, followed by my lovely boy who walks behind me faithfully...when naughty little pony charged past, knocking me over, battery went flying but luckily I had a soft landing, in the mud. My gorgeous Arab stood over me while the pony checked out the battery!! I'm counting my blessings I just have a few bruises and my Midas loves me!
That reminds of my lovely old mare who we had from birth. My OH, who was looking after the girls while I was recovering from a hip replacement, had out Milly's feed down and Anna came racing over for her feed when fell over. Milly left her feed and stood beside him and allowed him to pull himself up on her rug. Anna was not allowed her feed until all this had happened. They are just so wonderful.
I went to ride on Boxing Day and my old mare had rolled in the wettest place and mud was dripping of everywhere, neck girth area tail , I ended up giving her a bath. ( I have hot water in the yard) I still haven't ridden her as to icy now.
