Yes Debs, really does. You search for a reason it might have happened, lack of knowledge, lack of common sense perhaps?, but no, that's just not possible. And the life ban, very appropriate, but we see so many 5 year bans for situations just as bad. |

Dreadful, poor ponies. I don't understand how anyone could fail to notice severe laminitis and awful hooves. The sentences seem to be unduly light - as usual.

Kit would 'almost' be better if it was ignorance.... At least those people could be educated! Unlike those that are downright cruel :( |

Yes Debs, I agree. Somehow, because they absolutely must have known those hooves were not right, to me it seems worse. It cannot be lack of knowledge, you would need know nothing about horses to see that the hooves are very wrong. I'm not saying lack of knowledge is a good excuse, but it takes away the intent to harm, maybe. But this case cannot be that they did not know there was a problem with the hoof growth at least.
For a flight animal, not being able to run must be just dreadful. |
