Did any of you go? It was a great show but poorly attended. Firstly, a huge [maroon]"THANK YOU"[/maroon] to HRH Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud for the sponsorship of so many classes and for returning the championship prize money (several £1000) which he won with his fantastic horse; truly worthy champions. In fact, I had his yearling filly as champion but she was reserve champion. Still, what do I know! Also thanks to all the other sponsors.
The judging was very good and there were some really lovely horses there. It is great to catch up with people who we can only see a few times a year at the shows. Andre, your horses were lovely, it is great to see such happy, well loved horses.
I was surprised to see Fakhr al Khalediah beaten in the championship by his sire, Marquis CAHR. Two breathtaking stallions but to me Fakhr was absolute perfection and just had the edge on his sire. It will be interesting to see if he can produce as well as his sire does.
I was also pleased to see Eqzotic who came second in the 7 - 10 year old stallions as I have his half brother at home and they are so alike; I really should get him out and shown!
Can't wait for next year!!!
Barbara
PS A huge thank you also to all those who worked so hard to make the show such a success; not just the judges, ring stewards etc but the lovely couple who charge us to get in and sell us our programmes, announcer, etc etc.

Went on Saturday but only went to watch the RASS champs! Great atmosphere, lots of smiling faces....the rosettes were like dartboards! My friend was inspired and is planning to enter Ali next year! We will continue schooling this year and hopefully if we improve will be in it next year! Great new initiative! |

We went both days and stayed over in a Hotel it was a great show but agree some classes were poorly attended, such a shame but still some lovely horses to watch, I really wanted to watch the RASS classes but they started so late we ended up leaving before they started in the end, Debs I agree its a really good new class and hoping Arabi will be good enough by next year so hopefully see you at some shows. |
