Abra, who is a Pure Bred Arab but French so not very "Araby" had a buckskin filly this morning by Kambarbay, an Akhal Teke. The foal is a few days early and has VERY bendy legs but will hopefully strengthen up soon.

Beautiful babe, shes certainly a strapping lass. I love mum and Dad..he looks like burnished silver in his picture amazing variation on the metallic sheen on Akhal Teke |

Beautiful foal, I wouldn't have thought to cross an arab with an Akhal teke but she is amazing. Dad is a fantastic colour as are alot of the Akhal stallions I have seen. I think the Akhal is one of my dream horses. |

I can still picture the Akhal Teke in my Observers Book of Horses and that was over 50 years ago! Filly was a few days early and not as strong as Abra's previous two but I am sure she will catch up quickly |

Very nice, I think I too had been looking at Kambarbay for my mare, is he the stallion that has a nice vid of him doing dressage! As a child I always loved Aklal Teke's and from what you have said we must have had the same book! |

I think your book must have been a newer edition, Glo! He did do dressage with Matt Burnett and also a one day event - cue for more photos; sorry!

I had the same book - probably the same vintage as yours Brian - I inherited it from my Mum |

She is a very shy foal, "pinkyboots". Her mother is far more possessive over her than her previous two; I think she feels she has laid a golden egg with this one and that does not help with her handling. When it comes to the camera though she always looks at it and there is no need to wave hands or jump up and down to get her to ***** her ears! She is 1 (calendar) month old today and I managed to get a few shots without her staring down the lens.

SuziQ, she has won races and is an Advanced Endurance horse. She mixed her racing with the endurance and her foals (she was carrying her 1st foal when winning a race). She is brilliant at all her jobs but I think the broodmare one is the one she enjoys the most. She is 19. |

I think sometimes its better that they are a bit timid, the really bold ones can get a bit naughty sometimes
She has a lovely body shape already what are you calling her? |

No name yet! I came up with an Estonian name, as her sire was bred there, but the stud said she should have a Turkmen name as most of Kambarbay's ancestors were from there. Found one but no idea how to type "s" with a cedilla although I can do a "c" with one! |
