When I went to get my horse feed yesterday they were selling off Aigle boots at less than half price. My wellies had a split in them and now it is wet and the mud is starting I needed a new pair so I bought a pair and wore them last night and most of today and they are very comfortable. Can those who have them tell me if they wear well as I am thinking of getting a spare pair if they last well? I usually get cheap wellies but the cheap ones are no longer very cheap and they don't last very long so I thought another pair would be a good investment if they wear well.

Thanks for any comments.

I only wear Aigle boots now, though I've only had one pair as they've lasted for YEARS!!

I had worn Hunters, who purport to be THE British wellies, but the sly people gave the contract for making the boots to China and from then on they lasted so long and then the soles cracked open across the bottom.

I don't think you'll regret buying the Aigles. Where did you get them half price?? I would happily buy them half price! Or a pair for my husband whose boots didn't last a single winter!

Great news; I am sick of having wet feet all week when my latest wellies split as I can't get anywhere to get another pair during the week.

I had some Hunters several years ago and they didn't last any longer than my cheap wellies so never again. I bought some Roc last year but as I have a very high instep I couldn't get my feet into them so they are in a cupboard taking up space!

I did ask why they were selling them off as they don't usually have bargains like that and they said that they had the new style in so needed to get rid of last year's ones. I have never seen them do that before but I am well pleased now that the have the thumbs up from others.

Thank you for your replies.

Neoprene Aigle boots are definitely the best. Worth the investment and last for years.

Wish I could find a replacement for my Musto Thermal Jodphurs as unable to source them at the moment and are very pricey suggestions welcome please.

I've wanted a pair of Aigle Wellies for ages I've only heard good things about them. I just don't know if I can justify spending that much...does this retailer have an on line shop? I currently have to buy new Wellies every year so it might be worth spending the extra money if they last.

Sorry to be the only dissenting voice but I bought lined Aigle wellingtons last year and they lasted no time at all. They leak badly at the join of the boot to the sole on both feet. I'm at a loss to know what make to buy now as my Hunters leak too, although they lasted a lot longer than the Aigles.

If you have a problem with your Aigles I understand the Manufacturer is very good about replacing them (even a year or so after you bought them). I have only had the neoprene version, but I know my Mother was pleased with her 'normal' ones, and they lasted 3 or 4 years of constant daily use.

I still have the neoprene ones 14 years after I bought them - still toasty warm but no longer completely waterproof, so have finally replaced them.
