For anyone who has an ideal saddle that has the black logo on it...is it on both sides of the saddle at the stirrup bars?

I know the ideals are now made with a green logo and the stud is green but mine is 16 years old now. It has the black logo and just plain gold studs.

Something Ive never noticed before is..it only has one side with the logo. Im now wondering if it has always been like this or if the sod that bought my saddle and then kicked off making me take it back has actually removed it from one side and I never noticed.

Its not something Ive really looked at before so Im not sure.

I have a little metal-like plate on both sides.

Ive just looked on ebay to see if I can see one similar. I am sooo angry right now!

He only bought the saddle to steal the logo and then instantly raised a case saying the whole measurement thing was a misunderstanding so I would take it back and give him a refund.

He is obv a con and selling cheap crap then sticking on a logo to pass it off as an Ideal.

I have no proof either as I dont have photos from both sides, only the near side. So I dont think I could report him for damages.

I have just sold the saddle again and was taking photos from all angles as I didnt want a repeat when I noticed this.

My Ideal also has the logos on both sides, and as far as I am aware this is normal for all branded saddles. I have never owned one that didn't have the makers label on both sides. Shocking if the person who bought/rejected your saddle did such a thing, but hopefully not a problem with your new sale, since you and the saddle are genuine.

Mine is on one side - the left... But then again, mine is about 40 years old and a complete straight cut working hunter.
I have had a few people ask me if it is actually genuine.. Blank look and a cold stare was given as answer

I have emailed the person who has bought it now explaining what Ive noticed. Ive offered them a choice of a full refund or £25 off what they paid if they still take it.

Im more than convinced mine had 2 logos..it just looks different. Im sure I would of noticed something like that before.

If they do still take it, Ill be taking lots of godo photos before sending and Ill be reporting that man to ebay. Although hes the type who would probably shut his account and open up as someone else. I had noticed he had only bought 8 items at the time. I had thought he just a bit arogant and clueless at the time.

Having had a good look at mine, and then scouting the shed, I found my missing logo.
I realised I did have two when I bought it a year ago, looking at the photos of it!!
So it's gone off for it to be stuck back on lol.
Thanks Vik1, without this post, I wouldn't have realised!!!!

If the logo has been there a long time would you not seen a different shade of leather or a couple of small holes where the plate had been... just a thought x

The leather is same colour but there is a bit of a difference in shade if that makes sense. Its been cut to the shape/size of the badge and nailed in same way as the badge.

I keep thinking that maybe it was damaged in some way and got that put on in its place but I really dont remember any of my saddles ever being damaged in any way.

Luckily the guy whos now bought still wants it and doesnt mind it missing a badge. Thought it best to be honest with him. Last thing I want is any hassle like the last time. :(
