I found myself quite disappointed when the video ended, I wanted it to continue ; what fun that looks, and Wow she is so cool about it.
I imagined what each of mine would do with that game ...... hmmmmmm |

That looks brilliant fun! Very good Esme !! Now I need to put a video up of Freya doing her evening thing... I hide and call her, and she comes looking for me... People think I'm barmy, but she loves doing it! Thistles make awesome hiding places! xxx |

Esme so laid back over the tyre on her foot, you have both done great. She has total trust in you, it's inspired me to extend my boys ground work. He does life size wooden pigs, 3 ft gnomes, and ducks in water that the kids who jump leave around but I doubt he would have waited so calmly for me to get the tyre of his foot. His only fears come from the ground (thankfully not mud or bogs or I wouldn't get far in Yorkshire lol). Esme looked to you to deal with it, great partnership. I really have to man up and do tarp training with him,it's my biggest fear cos my old girl would jump all over me but that's not his problem it's mine. We learn all the time with Arabs so any advice welcome |

No, he'd probably have taken his foot out all on his own, like a NORMAL horse, while Esme finds the puzzle unsolvable after the first failed attempt. I put it down to her being born in France. She's got that French insouciance down to a tee. |

You are so right, Ari would have parted company with tyre very quickly but maybe wouldn't have been so trusting to go back over. Your Esme trusted you to sort it, that's where I want to be with clever boy lol |

Have you tried one of the orange Sainsburys bags or better still, Carrefour
I have to say that the progress is really remarkable ... from the little bag of nerves scardy cat. |

Goldenmane, you are (of course) right about that! God help horses for sale these days. However, I did the second video (and a few others) to send to a trainer I'm interested in working with, just to show what Esme is like at home. You know how when you take your horse to a new place and behaves like a SNORTING CRAZY DRAGON and you stand there meekly saying, "She's usually not like this...." while everyone around you rolls their eyes and says, "Of course, she's not, dear." So, I want to establish she is very quiet at home, not a stroppy horse, not a difficult horse, so that when I show up they won't assume she is when her nostrils flare to the size of coffee mugs! Of course, she may surprise me :)
Pop, she's definitely so much calmer. I put it down to your coaching over the phone to calm me!
She can become annoyed by me, though, and she really did want to get out of that sand school and so we did. Even Pat Parelli says the 7 games can become the 7 tortures unless you keep moving forward progressively.
Maybe I'll do another video with subtitles. They are fun! |
