her breeding is al shira,sire ali nebal,dam shakirah gold,grandsire al hakim, grandma nebula.grandsire on dam side golden cavalier, grandma shia gold, if anyone has pics it would be brill, and any information on her

Hi Danielle,
Your mare is also half sister on her dam side to Bryn--Shakmari Gold he's a very good endurance horse owned by Lisa who posts as LisaRachel on here. Bryn won the Arab Marathon last year, if you go to the Crabbet Convention site you'll see a pic.
I'm assuming she was bred by Betty Pitt?
Have you contacted Sue & Emrys Jones ? they will be able to give you lots more info on the sire side

Betty Pitt died a couple of months ago, but she had Shakirah Gold on loan from Gloria Ayub who knew the mare for most of her life. I'm sure she would be happy to give you information. Her tel. no is 01392 832277.

| I think that Ali Nebal is owned by Roy Thomas.He is by Al Hakkim (Egyptian) out of Nebula (Polish). |

Oh I was just following this as I had a PM re Bryn I hadn't realised that poor Betty had died though knew that she was very ill.
She was always lovely to work for and I will be forever grateful to her and her husband for breeding my dear Bryn as well as so many other lovely horses. Thankyou Betty. |

| hi lisa yes I have the half sis to bryn, she was poor when I had her and the girl I had her off didn't have a clue she is coming along amazingly now, it has been such a godsend to find this forum and a bit about shira,s past. |

I've been scanning some old photos I took at the AHS Shows in the early 1970's. They not all good pictures but in case they're of interest here are some of Shakirah Gold's ancestors.
The first is Gleaming Gold with foal Crystal Gold at Kempton Park in 1971.
The next is Golden Treasure in a mare's class at Kempton Park 1971, she is fourth from the left.
This one is Fari II
The last one is Golden Treasure with half-sister Autumn Gold, but I haven't yet figured out which is which, maybe someone else will know
I hope these pictures are the right size, for some reason the post preview isn't working for me.
